Well I finally went region free over the holiday and got my first R2 disc. Now the collecting insanity can officially begin!

I'm open for ratings and recommendations too. Check sig.

Don't worry I was skipped when the thread was going strong half a year ago.

I felt... then :( then :) cause I took a muscle relaxer.

----------------

I have been collecting dvds since dvd began, and a year ago got rid of half of my dvd collection because I didn't watch them. Over the course of the past few months I have slowly gotten rid of most of my collection. And now I only have dvds that I will watch again and again (including my tv on dvd - which I watch the most.)

So if anyone wants to see my revamped small collection and rate it, go here:

http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.ht...&id=conscience

My tastes really have no cohesion (although the majority in my collection are 90s to the present films), but I do like Jack Nicholson and I will be getting the other films I don't have with him to complete my Nicholson dvd collection in the near future.

well, you got "Bubba Ho-Tep" and that makes you A-Ok in my book.

Any other takers on mine...

^Good selection of Criterions. Since you've got Killer and Bullet in the head, try some other Asian action stuff like:
Fulltime Killer
Rainy Dog
Friend
Time and Tide
Full Contact

You have a very fine collection. I would find it hard to to trim because you really don't have much "crap", IMO. I mean, I could mention some titles that I didn't care for but maybe they were some of your favorite films. So, I'll just toss out a few that didn't do much for me:

Face/Off, School of Rock, Spygame, Donnie Brasco, Grand Canyon, Nixon, Out of Sight, Payback, Snatch.

Thanks!

Loser, that is my most watched DVD!!

Since I don't like DVDPro too much, I looked at your DVDAf collection (well the first 500, that is ;)) and it is a very thorough collection.

I really like how you section them off in folders.

And you have Kung Pow! :) :)

I tried to get that in the Wal-Mart Black Friday sale, and I couldn't find the damn thing! Might get it sometime in the future.

You have Psych-Out/The Trip. I need that.

Ghost World? Strange stuff? :D

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama -

I've re-named that folder so many times, I've forgotten what it was supposed to be for. You're right... I need to re-visit, re-name, re-move... re-something. -smile-

Htom Sirveaux 01-05-05 03:05 PM

smirnoffski, I like all the TV you have... definitely a few I'd like to pick up someday! And the Dream Theater is a nice touch as well. :)

I was skipped over last week... can anyone give some feedback on my collection?

smirnoffski 01-05-05 03:19 PM

Htom, some great sci-fi there good work with Star Trek and Stargate, but a few comedies I personally dislike like Undercover Brother. I also noticed that you have a healthy dose of films produced down under but have absolutely no films from the classical era you should spice things up with some excellently produced classic DVD sets. Nice touch with the Toy Story box set! :)

You're right, I could definitely stand to pick up some classics. There are a bunch (Kubrick, Kurosawa, Hitchcock) that I count among my favorites, yet come movie-buying time, I usually skip past the classics for some reason. And as far as Undercover Brother and its ilk goes, what can I say, I am a sucker for some dumb comedies (how else can I explain owning so much Beavis & Butthead?).
