I think they pretty much only make the non-unrated version to sell at Walmart and rent at Blockbuster and other retailers that feel the need to impose their morals on their customers.
Which means of course that they'll lose a lot of business on these titles.

^Powerbomb, $28 I think it said in the info. But you know it'll be 15-20 opening week. I don't think we need to worry about studios' SRP anymore on new releases.
Definitley one of the better movies this year. Easy buy for me, I really enjoyed the movie. The extras sound great.

The MAP is $19.95, which means that they can't advertise the disc for less than that.
The Minimum Advertised Price is the reason for all of those "HOT PRICE" ads you see. It's not the stores that want to keep the price from you - it's their deal with the studios - they get product cheaper if it comes with a MAP attached, and the wink and a nod agreement from the studios is that they'll set the MAP pretty high, so no one would advertise that price or sell it for that much anyway.
At least the playing field is level - every store will list "Low Price" or "Hot Price" for those new titles.

Oh, heck, here's a scan of the ad. The MSRP is $29.98, btw, which will likely mean a ~$20 retail price.

why is it a two sided disc?
I rented The Girl Next Door the Unrated version tonight, and I noticed that it was a double sided disc. I thought that the two sided disc went out a few years ago. What's with Fox releasing it this way?

I found the double sided disc annoying as well. Especially since there's a single layer on both sides. It should have been a dual-layered disc with everything on the same side.

That makes sense. I have Goodfellas on dvd also and I think they made it look like porn as well. That's some marketing gimmick if I ever seen one.

She's not even naked in the Unrated Cut?
Isn't nudity the POINT of unrated cuts? I mean, what makes it "too h0tt for theatres!!!" then?

Some nudity is: lots of nudity in the strip club (esp. the lap dance scene). The 2 pornstars are also nude in the prom/video scene.

I hate to tell you guys but there is absolutely no difference in the theatrical and unrated cuts. I saw this in the movies and it had the exact same amount of nudity as in the unrated cut. The strip club scene and the prom/video scene were indeed in the movie. Unless there was some dialogue added in, this "Unrated" stuff was just a marketing scheme.

Great movie, but disappointed in the Double sided Single Layer the way the movie was presented. Makes you wonder if an SE is going to be released soon with a higher bitrate.
