This is prime example of being washed up, before his combeback through other means (like family guy).
Appearing on "Family Guy" defines "washed up" as far as I'm concerned.

big diffrence between getting a check for doing a voiceover and appearing at a trade show in costume twenty years after your show is off the air.

$6 was the winning bid for one of them! and here we payed 39 cents! That person made a profit of probably at least $5. Well, I guess that's eBay for 'ya.

Yeah, I'd rather appear in costume as a beloved character than slum it in some d-list "Simpsons" knockoff.

In any case, he's playing himself in "Family Guy" so how is that any different anyway? He's playing the guy that played "Batman" 40 years ago on a show that's moderately successful at best. Washed-up? Definitely.

The video quality looks like dupes of tapes, and some of it just home video footage, but still for the price its a must own if your looking for adam west batman.

-it starts with a clip of the first appearance of batgirl

-then shows a US wage & labor ad starring Batman & Robin tied up while Batgirl ask for equal pay for women

-then multiple version of the theatrical movie trailer/promos in multiple lanuages

-Then an appearance by Adam West at a trade show IN COSTUME...he says something to the extent of I've been doing this 22 years, which puts this appearance about 1987-89. He makes some inuendos to the ladies, and pokes fun at some kids...its pretty amazing. This is prime example of being washed up, before his combeback through other means (like family guy).

-Then behind the scenes footage of some sort of interviews. Conducted in front of the batmobile on set with a bat cave. Not sure if this was a reunion show or what...Wasn't Return to the Batcave, seemed before that, as cast members who were dead at that point are in the cast.

I have a feeling this dvd will get pulled
Here's some background on the wage & labor PSA:

The clip features Burt Ward and Yvonne Craig, but Dick Gautier is under the Batman cowl in place of Adam West.

Better to be washed up than never been or never will be.

thats pretty interesting, it was done so late after the series. I hadn't noticed that it wasn't West in costume until reading this and re-watching it. Very nice.

nope, what we need is people to use the search engine. two of the threads were started by the same user. no offense, but mabe the threads should just be merged as there is no news to speak of. you can do a search for adam west and pull up half a dozen other threads on the show

just goes to show people how popular the Adam West Batman tv show really was. 50 years from now, people will still be talking about the West Batman while Keaton and Bale will be considered footnotes.

Or, you could be like me and enjoy all versions

But seriously, I wish this would come out already. I have, ahem, seen the less scrupulant versions, and they are obviously buyer beware--lots of skipping on my DVD players and a few episodes won't even play. I'm not condoning those versions, I'm just saying.

My brother just returned from Chiller today and he picked up the complete 60's Batman TV show all 120 episodes for $50. Excellent quality (at least on the spot-checks of each disc). We find a reputable vendor with quality products and stick with him... he sells a lot of stuff to us, and we get great stuff at cheap prices.

Does all of this multi-ownership legal battle mess have anything to do with the absence of a GREEN HORNET DVD Set?

It's possible. In several episodes people are watching Batman on tv. In one Batman episode, Bruce and Dick and watching Green Hornet on tv and Dick says, "Gee, Bruce. They sure look silly in those costumes."

Seems like bootlegs will be the only way to get this series.

TVLand had a marathon a while back. I used my Tivo, took out all the commercials and have what I have. I'd still be glad to buy a real box set.

Warner owns the character, Fox owns the show, someone else owns the rights to that model of the Batmobile. Plus, DC is rumored to not want that Batman circulating, because it conflicts with the current incarnation.

I'm not sure that last part has any validity, but I hear it often.

Why was the Batman (Adam West) movie released if DC didn't care for that version of Batman?
