I finally picked up Fight For Your Life at Best Buy, which got it in on April 6, fully six weeks after its release. Best Buy corporate has some serious problems with release dates. I have not watched it yet, but intend to do so this weekend.

I watched The Final Countdown over the weekend. It holds up well over the years. It has a brisk pace and good dialog. The fact that it was filmed onboard the Nimitz really adds punch to the film. Blue Underground did their usual great job on the transfer. I am looking forward to watching the extras later this week. This is a great release.

yup...great release from BU...again. and yes, I've seen 4 shoppers at BB who bought the dvd based on the cover. on one occasion, one person said to another person, "ever seen this movie"? to which the other guy replied.."nope...but cool cover!"...and "yeah...I'm gettin' it...what the hell."

you gotta love it.

That holographic insert was a great idea. I am glad to see that Blue Underground is keeping the transparant keep cases which allow the back of the cover to display when opened.

I was at Best Buy the other day and I noticed a lot of Blue Underground titles on the shelf, but they were all in clear keep cases - new titles like Fight For Your Life and older titles like Contamination and Contraband. When did they switch to these new clear cases? Personally, I prefer the standard black keep case.

It started in January with Sadomania and The Girl From Rio. Now, they are rereleasing all their titles this way. I actually like the transparant cases as they allow full use of covers for interior information such as menus and artwork.

I doubt that very much. I expect Uncle Sam to be a low budget exploitation film given the royal treatment on DVD. I think that is what I will get.

I happen to like Uncle Sam. I still have an Old VHS copy with the "switcher-roo" face plate gimmick. Plus the movie has Issac Hayes in it and the "Zombie" kills children. Good fun for all.
POSSIBLE SPOILER
I still don't understand why they have the Uncle's casket in there living room. Hell they even go to bed with the damn thing there, creepy

over at another messageboard (its a horrordvds.com message board, so those guys should know more than we), they are moaning and groaning over UNCLE SAM. I dont know if I can give you an uplink, but some of those horror fan's reviews of this title are NASTY and NOT favorable!

I like 'em too. It's nice to see some nice color/images when you open the case. While not a BU release, the signed LE of I Drink Your Blood had all (but one) signature on the interior cover so you can see them when you open the case.

Haven't bought this title yet. I was hoping that when it went OOP, someone with the calibur of BU re-release it instead, so it can be anamorphic widescreen, instead of pan and scam, with loads of extra. Too bad the reissue is the same damn thing..

I've been there plenty over the past year and find the write-ups just like everywhere else...just some more opinions. I've seen it and although it's not classic...it's still essential for my complete BU library. cant wait for that and Fast Company.

I don't know if this has been covered or not, but has Lustig mentioned any plans for Maniac Cop. One of my favorite films and was hoping Elite would add this to there Millennium Edition but since Lustig has BU i'm not holding my breath on that.

Are you saying that I Drink Your Blood is pan and scan? That seems absurd given all the hype about its limited release. Are you certain of this?

Blue Underground is slowing down again. They have no new releases slated for May.
That seems strange. One would think that they would have something new lined up.

I just bought and watched Fight For Your Life on a whim, and its a great slice of exploitation. Very over the top and ridiculous. Thanks, Blue Underground!

I usually don't bring my love of Columbia House to other threads, but I thought this deserved mention...

CH just added a bunch of cool BU titles to their library, including the new 2-Disk DJANGO, the 3 other movies from the Spaghetti Western box set and...

The 2-disk LE of FAST COMPANY!!!!

Nobody at Blue Underground deigns himself humble enough to answer my email query. Does anyone know if the movies in the Giallo Collection 2 will also be released individually? I want only one of the titles.

i've been really wanting to get into spaghetti westerns, and it looks like the blue underground set is the way to go for introductions. but i read they are releasing a 2 disc of django, so i wasn't sure if i should get the box set or not. i'm most intrested in django, kill, if you live, shoot!

my question is are they releasing the other titles in the box set individually? also, i couldn't find them at deep discount, does anyone know the cheapest price for the set? thanks in advance!
