Just finished watching Deathdream and Uncle Sam tonight. The cover art on both boxes have a mirror finish to them which gives the artwork a reflective, creepy effect. The print of Uncle Sam is superior to the Elite Edition and Deathdream is everything I could have hoped it would be. An alternate opening, extended ending, 2 commentaries, Tom Savini featurette, behind the scenes gallery, trailer, press kits and posters / video boxes, several other extras... Once again, Blue Underground has delivered the goods!

Bill Lustig had sent them my way.

since I own all the BU titles...and since I'm a self-proclaimed fanboy....tell him to "lose" a few copies my direction.:D

I just watched Fast Company this afternoon for the first time. I was blown away. This is a fun exploitation film. The transfer looks so good that I am sure it surpasses any theatrical showings the film had back then. The plot was simple but pithy. I really enjoyed John Saxon as the sleazeball company man. He was such a great villain. I highly recommend this as one of the best Blue Underground releases of the year. I was not expecting to enjoy the film as much as I did, but I was sucked in and loved every minute. Tomorrow I will watch Stereo and Crimes Of The Future.

Originally posted by salamander2 well if you HAVE to see UNCLE SAM now, you can always buy the oop elite DVD, which has most of the extras in the new BU DVD, but this film actually blows chunks! |

I am hoping that December will bring the Giallo Collection 2, but I am not holding my breath. I have a feeling that will be for next year.
|
I have never seen Circle of Iron -- but I could swear that on one of the late shows that David Carradine mentioned that the flute he plays in Kill Bill 2 is the same one that he played in Circle of Iron. Can anyone who has seen it confirm if that was the right movie?
|
I don't even remember that he played a flute in Circle Of Iron.
|
Smithereens |
I remember he did have a flute, but I can't confirm it's the same one. The only other thing I remember was Eli Wallach sitting in a giant clay urn.
|
I wasn't sure if I was remembering the correct movie title or not. I just now looked CIRCLE OF IRON up on imdb and did find a reference to it originally being called THE SILENT FLUTE and a mention of Carradine playing four roles in the movie, including a "blind flute-playing sage". So, I'm assuming it must be the same movie he was talking about.
Sounds interesting, despite its low-rating on imdb. |
