i finally found them for a decent price ($13 a pop!) online last night, so i ordered django and django, kill! i can't wait.

I will be double dipping on Django. I want that eight minute short with Franco Nero. I also really love the film. Django Kill is a good movie as well. I think you will enjoy it.

As much as i love Franco Nero and Django i'm not double dipping for 8 mins. Way too many other discs to buy that are worth the money.

Well, I am happy. I picked up both Django 2-disc and Fast Company LE today. I actually got Fast Company LE for only $14.99 at Best Buy because they had it tagged wrong. The bonus disc on Django is a mini disc and looks great. I will simply take the liner notes insert from my original Django and insert it in the new one. Now I must go cold turkey on Blue Underground for two whole months until 29 June when Deathdream and Uncle Sam get released.

Thanks EPKJ! I didn't see anything in the forum for discounted prices on this so I was going to wait and order it later. When I read that you had picked it up and it was mis-marked, I ran out to Best Buy and was also able to get it for $14.99. Just like you, I am now waiting for June for Deathdream. I will probably rent Uncle Sam first due to the mixed things I've heard. Anyway, does anyone know why they didn't put a limited # on these?

Well, the Blue Underground website does not list a limited number, so, it may be that the DVD is limited because of a short license period on the two bonus films included.

How do other Blue Underground fans feel about the new transparant cases and the lack of inserts?

I'm not a fan of the transparent cases at all, I actually hate them. They just feel cheap to me, as if it's not a real DVD. The inserts I could care less about.

I like the full-size ones, like the ones for "Fight for your Life" and "Final Countdown", but I hate the thin ones, like those that came with the Mondo Cane collection. It's too hard to remove the disc and I'm afraid of some ham-fisted friend or family member cracking one of my discs trying to get it out of the box. Inserts I can take or leave, it doesn't really matter.

The only inserts I like are essays on the film such as those in the original Spaghetti Western Collection. I was sorry to see the rereleases omitted these as they were very interesting reads.
As far as the transparant keep cases, I actually like the fact that they allow for full use of the cover sheet, both front and back.

I don't dislike them, except in regards to one situation. Though I am not normally that interested in inserts, I actually do like the Criterion and the Blue Underground inserts quite a bit. This is for different reasons, the Criterion ones for the essays and extras, the Blue Underground ones for the reproduction of the vintage movie posters. The fact that the new ones don't have them doesn't bother me so much as the fact that the re-releases don't include the same inserts they once had.

I feel fine about them. I make my own inserts...which are far more detailed and custom-info'd to fit my needs. I really dont get in a twist over cases and lack of inserts. actually...BU had a fine idea. if yer not going to include a booklet...fine. they make it see through so you can see chapter stops and bypass the wasting of paper for a one-sheet filled with nuffin'.:D

I don't really like them, i'd perfer if BU would include an insert becuase i love to have the cool orginal poster artwork on them. These news cases aren't very good.

I don't care what the dvds come in, its the disc quality I'm concerned with... but for the record, the clear cases look neat.

So whats the deal with Fast Company? I was checking it out today at BB, and I was interested in the short films. I haven't found any reviews for the set, anyone have a detailed opinion? :D

Those are not short films on the bonus disc. Both are feature length films.

That is my view as well. I don't like that the rereleases are not identical.. This is especially bad with the Spaghetti Western Collection, which had four beautifully done essays on the films. These should have been included in the rereleases.
