OK, it's obvious that Universal thought they'd be clever making this a 26th anniversary edition as a joke. I would've rather done without the joke and released it last year when it should have been, with better treatment like deleted scenes, Martin commentary, etc. I already sold my P&S copy, so I am looking forward to OAR this time 'round even if it is a subpar release.

I love this movie, but this is one of the most lackluster "special editions" I've ever seen. It's the kind of special features that ought to be standard on any DVD, I expect a little more out of a "special edition." Feh.

Something is weird with the trailer on this SE disc. The volume is recorded VERY low, so low I could barely hear it even with my TV volume maxed out! However, it's just a trailer. The extras were disappointing ("abusing plants" was funny, though) but the movie itself looks wonderful, and it's in WIDESCREEN AT LAST!!!!!

Watched the "S.E." this morning. Great movie and the transfer and sound are excellent. The bonus features are insulting though. Would it have killed you, Universal, to put together a decent 1/2 hr. doc? As for the trailer, I watched it on my surround system and it was fine. It was weird though, because all the audio came through the rear speakers and the front and center were very, very low. Maybe it was encoded weird and has to use a 5.1 set-up to play correctly? I also don't like the cover art used because the pictures are obviously drawn from the film or old promo stuff and look very low resolution.
Well enough bitching, at least I only paid $12.99. The disc is worth it for the movie in fine form, which is, of course, why I got it in the first place.
