the Vacation poster isn't a spoof of anything. but it is a very tongue-in-cheek effort by artist Boris Vallejo.

I realize I'm 4 months late on this--but damnit, if you can't see Kevin Bacon's pose is the same with the 2 covers I posted, perhaps you need a bigger monitor.

4 months to think of that insult? I think you could have hurt his feelings more than that.

The people at Spaceballs should be fired for this blatent rip-off

I mean c'mon, they even have characters that look like C3PO, Darth Vader, Leia, and Han Solo. I can't believe Lucas isn't suing.

It wasn't an insult. And I hadn't read this thread until I went back through threads I started and noticed I hadn't ever come back after I posted. If I wasn't simulataneously wokring while posting, I probably could have come up with something better than that, I suppose. Like call him a doddyhead or something.

There was another thread about this quite a while ago...maybe it's in the Cover art forum.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ROTS art won't more closely match the Space Balls art than the TPM art.

I agree with most of those, but come on...the two tornado related covers??? What else are they going to show on a cover for a movie about a tornado??? EVERY movie cover about a tornado is going to have a freaking tornado on it. I don't see how those are blantant copies of each other. There are some on there that really don't look enough a like either, and some that are obvious.

You know what I realized? I'm probably the last to scream "conspiracy".

The Under Suspicion/Beyond Suspicion is the most blatant of all.

Did they put Matt on a stairmaster and say, "Here dude, take this gun, and pretend you're walking--errr running or something. Oh, and move your arms back and forth to make it appear as if you're moving naturally. Got it? Good."

I must be blind, I don't see either of those covers on any of the three pages there?

Man, I looked at that thing a good dozen times. "Hackman, Freeman, some other name I don't know" because it's right beside her picture.

As I said, I'm blind.

My father looked at some of my custom DVD covers once. He said "Wow! you could do this professionaly!" I said "No, I'm not stupid enough..."
You fu@!ing got that right. Ghostbusters, anyone? Excalibur, anyone? Thief, anyone? Unbelievable...

Actually, it's the same idea as all the art that was hacked to death when going from Vinyl to Cassette. Hopefully most of you, who read this, are old enough to remember the LP to tape transition?? Anyone? Please????
Hell yes, and I'm only 30. I have always hated cassettes, for that very reason (Iron Maiden!), and I think cover art has taken a dive since CDs took over platters.

Ahhh, the many faces of Harrison Ford. He shows such range in displaying confusion mixed with thinly veiled contempt.
