L.a. Confidential S.e.?

The features listed could be a little more clearly defined, but it sounds good. My only disappointment is that I had hoped for an edited-together commentary with Curtis Hanson, Brian Helgeland, James Ellroy and perhaps Spacey, Pearce and Basinger, plus producers.

I don't believe Curtis Hanson does commentaries. Some of the others are no strangers though.
I'm glad they did as I suggested two years ago in this thread and included the TV pilot.

I dont think I like it but I dont know. Maybe I'll give it some more time to digest.

Certainly not what I was expecting. I guess it's not necessarily bad and it looks well put together (as opposed to how crappy photoshopped covers usually look). It does, however, look more like something you'd find in the pages of some glamor magazine than on a DVD. It also follows in the line of the original marketing which played up Kim Bassinger. I guess she's the poster girl for the film.
But wouldn't it make more sense if the photos of the other cast members were in black & white?

And I hope this isn't another trend studios make. "Oh! There's a sexy woman in this film? Slap her titties and ass on the front cover. She wasn't really in the movie that much? Eh. Well, put the other actors somewhere on the cover."

I'll definitely be picking up the Blu-ray of this. Although I'm not allowing myself to repurchase HD movies I already own on DVD (I didn't spend years building my collection for nothing), this is one title I'd be gladly double dipping on even if I wasn't going blu.
I quite like the cover art.
