Jurassic Park Replacement Disc Still Going?

I never got a call back either. (Nor do I expect one as my history in dealing with customer "service" phone numbers has left me jaded.) Now that I know it's defective, it's not like I'm going to care if it's missing from my collection - so three days ago I just went ahead and mailed it to the Dallas, TX address posted in this thread. I'll be sure to let everyone know what becomes of it.

I just read comments, on another site, about the JP disc exchange. Someone said they mailed the disc to Universal on Oct 28, 2002 and got the replacement Nov 26, 2002. Someone else wrote that they sent the disc on Oct. 28, 2002 and got it on Nov. 29, 2002.
So I guess it's safe to send the discs in the mail. They also had the official email from Universal Home Video:
p.s. Someone else gave an email address for contacting them:

Some listeners have noticed that the initial release of the Jurassic Park-DTS DVD differs in bass level from other home-video versions. While every effort is made to maintain accuracy and consistency across various releases, source and process issues sometimes lead to differences which are noticeable in direct comparisons.
Universal Studios Home Video strives to ensure customer satisfaction, and accordingly has implemented a running change for this title, using the original master soundtrack. The earlier production run can be identified by the code number D2R1 on the inside hub. The newer, current version can be identified by the code D2R2 and will contain a red technical grid on the back of the packaging as part of the running change.
Consumers who have purchased the "D2R1" discs will have the option of making an exchange. Please send in the disc only (without packaging), along with name, address and telephone number, to: Universal Studios Home Video, PO Box 224468, Dallas TX 75260 or Universal Studios Home Video, 8801 Autobahn Drive, Dallas, TX 75237.
Please note: This offer for exchange applies only to the DTS version of Jurassic Park.

Sorry Giles, I forgot I posted in this thread (computer died right after I did).
Couldn't find any online, but I remember reading future pressings would have the specs in a red grid opposed to the black grid here:

Furio, on the ring of the disc look for this: D2R1. If your disc has that, you have a defective DTS track.

I used to work for the company that does Universal services here in Dallas. I worked for the Music division, but I called my friend that is basically in charge of Universal Home Video. He says that they are still doing replacements for the first Jurassic Park DTS.
So just send the disc WITHOUT case to the address below. If you send your case, you may not get it back.
He said they are having big issues with BTTF because so many ppl are sending the whole package with all 3 discs and they are only sending out discs 2 and 3.

The rear cover of my case looks exactly like that photo. Black and gold grid with the specs.
As for finding something that says D2R2 or D2R1 I can't find either. I'm looking on the clear part of the center of the cd and there is more printing right past the clear part on a gold ring around the center. All I could find was this, IFPI LL06 A01K1320 BB-207871 PEMC 02

But, considering you have the black tech. grid, it might be safe to assume you have the bad one.

Damn it. Now I had to open mine up. D2R2. Whew.
You know, if I ever get over 1000 DVDs, this is going to be hell keeping up to date on all of them. I'm beginning to feel like a librarian, constantly checking all the books to be sure they haven't been torn or scratched, etc.

Well, I was the one who mailed my defective Jurassic Park on December 20th to 8801 Autobahn Drive, Dallas, TX 75237. As it had been over six weeks with no response, I called 972 293 5903 and heard the same voicemail I heard last time requesting I leave a message.
However, this time (within an hour or two) I actually received a call back. They stated a replacement would be shipped to me tomorrow. (Coincidence? Or did my phone call cause this to finally get mailed?) Anyways - I was told I would have it within four days after that.

Sorry to keep bringing this old issue up but I just talked to the customer service and was told the same thing mentioned here. Just wondering here though, how do most of you send "just" the disk? Do you put it in bubble wrap or just the bare bone disk without anything else in the envelope? How about the disk that they send back? Is it protected so it wouldn't break or have scratches?
Thanks

Oops, there was a bad typo
in my old post... sorry.
