I could have sworn that it did come with it. I know with Charlie and the chocolate fact. deluxe ed. I bought it at best and they didn't have any but at Target they had them. So it may depend on what store you look in.

I don't like them, but i don't throw them away. I usually keep everything that came with the package except the shrinkwrap and the little sercurity sticker [hate those things].

I definitely keep 'em. They protect the case.

Me neither. I even keep the ads that sometimes accompany the inserts. I guess I'm a perfectionist and it's no big deal to keep them anyways.

I throw away many of them; because they don't match.

I gave away the "Die Another Day" p.o.s. and put in a custom cover which matched the other 19 Bond movies.

"Dawn of the Dead" 2004 I kept for its brilliant orange and yellow, but "Land of the Dead" and "House of Wax" I trashed. "The Grudge" ones I threw away.

I think I'll keep the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" slipcover for it's foil luminosity.

The Disney ones are keepers for sure. I admit they are brighter-colored than having the bare keepcase artwork underneath a layer of clear plastic.

In my neck of the woods, it's strange how factories cut out the UPC area of the slipcover to let the keepcase UPC show through; there must be some reason for this?

I try to keep mine as well but at times because of my carelessness I have had a few casualties by the hands of my kids.

You got rid of the one with Halle Berry in a bikini inside the fold-out section?

People used to take the dvd out of the slipcase and slide in a more expensive one.

I keep the slipcovers, but much rather prefer actual inserts in the dvd cases.

As far as I'm concerned,. the slip covers serve pretty much the same funcion the CD longboxes did back in the 80s. (anyone remember them?) And no one kept those.

I'll keep the slip if it's got different art(like 'The Fly'), or if there's some cool effect (like the 'MOonty Python & The Holy Grail' one), but for titles like 'Monster' or 'I Heart Huckabees', they're just pointless.

I don't throw them away.

Sad to say, I try and trade for the ones I have that are lacking. Don't throw these suckers away - post them on the Exchange and get a flick or two (if you've got several) out of the deal. I've even got those things on my wants during my threads - kinda sad, but I love having the full, original sha-bang that the DVD comes with.

Gryffin -

I have the Hellboy slipcover you're looking for - I have the Wizard of Oz 2-discer, but mine didn't come with a slipcover. E-mail me at burrllis AT hotmail DOT com, with your address, and I'll send it to you.

cheers,

-the Jesus

%90 of the time I don't... Only time I do if its a flimsy crappy case or I don't like the artwork, or if it has no spine writing...

I never throw them away. Why would I? If I don't like how it looks I'd put it away in case I was ever going to sell or trade the disc. I even kept the Austin Powers band that slipped over the three DVDs.

When talking about slipcovers do you mean the outer shell box of films? am not getting the right visualisation here.

For instance, Amélie, the two discs slide out of a green box (slipcover??) with a hole in it showing her face. Is that what people are throwing away?

Or Office Space, that flimsy sleeve (slipcover??) in the design of a file cabinet, is that what people throw out?

Which is the slipcover?

TaB, that would be the 2nd one, like a replica of the actual cover that goes over.
