For me the point is moot
I just ordered my 5th DVD changer, I'm well over the 1200 that the 4 CX-875P hold. On the question asked the answer is yes unless they rip. I am a trader here and to ship out a ripped cover, would do more harm than good IMHO.

Haven't thrown any away yet, but some of them will probably get thrown away pretty soon - specifically I am referring to 2 new DVD's which even went out of their way to take up extra space on my shelf by adding a useless piece of velcro! Know which two I am referring to?? I mean the new "Dances With Wolves" and "Die Another Day" - ridiculous - why do we need THOSE slipcovers anyway?! And, the slipcover on "Dances .." is so thin and cheap that in my humidity here it is buckled and warped ridiculously anyway.

Most of the time I will keep a slip cover if it's cool looking or say it's a 2cd set or there is just a paper cover inside etc..
but for a film like Usual Suspects, I wanted to keep it but the copy I bought did not seems to want to come out and it split down the seam.. at that point, threw it out..
I tend not to keep any of those info stickers they put on the backs of box sets also.. gasp!! heh

After paying upwards of $20 for some discs, I like to take all of my movies, compress 'em waaay down with the divx file format, burn 10-20 movies onto a single DVD-R (for my personal use only,) and throw away all of the original packaging (and discs.) This way I have the movies, without having to mess with getting another disc out when I want to watch the next movie. I had thought of using a binder to store the DVD-Rs, but I decided to just use a spindle...

I don't throw them away, but I do take them off and store them in the closet. I convert all of my WB 2 disc SE dvd's to single width amaray cases like I do with my snappers, so I don't need them anyway.

HELL NO!!!!
Especially the one's like the Warner 2-Disc Sets. Without the slipcover how would those fit cofortably? Besides They usually look f**king great.
Prime exaples... Usual Suspects, True Romance, Robin Hood, Bull Durham, etc.
Anyway my answer's still, NO WAY!

bumping this to see if anyone knows where i might be able to locate the slipcase for The Usual Suspects..i've looked everwhere, even offered money and have come up empty handed everytime. I want this for my collection, and as silly as it sounds, it makes me tear up to read that someone threw theirs away.

Why would I throw them out when they do such a good job of protecting the case.
jpdude: I'd check out Blockbuster or some other store that has used DVDs. That's where I found mine, slipcase included. Good luck!

I can't believe someone actually threw away the slipcover to Die Another Day - the picture inside of Halle Berry in the bikini was worth the $5 I paid at a pawn shop for the sealed copy.

BUMP
Anyone still throwing these slipcovers away? Im sure some of us that use Columbia House, in which a lot of the DVDs dont come with slipcovers, would love to get our hands on your trash. It seems silly in a way, but the slipcovered cases look much classier to me, plus sometimes the cover is better than whats underneath (Leon Deluxe Edition for example). So if you have any you dont want, look me up, please

I keep it, but I do throw away most of the inserts except the good stuff (Chapter listings and movie related things)
I definitely keep any coupons that come with it that can lower the cost of feeding my habit

color me an idiot - I thought I had thrown it away, but now I'm reading that SW didn't come with a slipcover . . . I'm just anal about everything in a series looking the same and I thought that since the rest of the Platinum titles had slipcovers . . .

I've only thrown one slipcover away. It was the Martin Scorsese Collection. I did it because I wanted all five of the movies in that collection to be seperated and visible.
Other than that rare example, I don't throw anything away. And I keep all of the slipcovers on the case, just like I bought them.
