Do you buy sequels even if they suck?

Absolutely not. I am still waiting for them to split up the Indiana Jones box set. I only want Raiders of the Lost Ark. I have Alien, Jurassic Park, Escape From New York and Highlander. I have no intention of getting any of the sequels.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned Episodes I and II. The majority of all of us agree that the movies are pretty bad, but we get them anyway.
Although they're prequels, so maybe it's better suited for another thread.

I will buy sequels/prequels if it is part of a box set or if I actually like the sequel. For example, I will not buy Matrix Revolutions, but I will buy the Matrix box set.

Its not necessarily the majority... Those who are negative are usually just the ones who scream the loudest, on this or any other topic.

I'll kepp sub-par movies but not crappola. I bought the box set of Speed and Alien but got rid of Speed2 and Alien 3 and Alien 4. Just had no interest in them. Why waste room on a crowded shelf with movies I can't stand? Die Hard 3, Temple of Doom, JP3 are all tolerable to me so I keep those.

The reason why I and II aren't mentioned is because those who buy them don't think they're bad. The prequels generate a polarized reaction... either, "they're good/great and worthy of purchase" or, "they're bad and not worth the money". I really doubt there are any/many who "held their nose" as they purchased the prequels.

This is not a dig at you, but it is surprising how many people that DO own these movies are constantly bashing them.

Agreed! I've never understood that. People who claim to hate these movies and bash them constantly, yet own the DVDs, are quite pathetic in my opinion. They'll give you the excuse that they bought them for demo purposes, which is even more pathetic. There are dozens of DVDs that are reference quality, that you don't have to resort to buying movies you hate. There are even those who'll lie and say they don't own them, when they actually do.
