I like how they are going to get it out by September. I was going to see it in the theater, but if it's coming out that soon I might as well just wait. Plus, I got many other movies I need to see at the theater right about now...

I wonder what the special features would be? A director's commentary would be redundant.

Yeah, what's he going to say, something like "This is where I cut off this congressman in order to make him look stupid."?

Saw the congressman on MSNBC over the weekend who said how when Moore came up to him to enlist his son to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan, Moore convieniently left out his repsonse after "No." when he said "... my son is already in the military fighting in Afghanistan."

Hmmm...not at all if you ask me.

He could explain some of the clips in more detail, maybe some legal issues they had to face with the clips, the public's outcry over some of the scenes, what others have said about the film in certain stages, you name it.

I think it would make for an excellent commentary track.

Yeah, our audience was equally as vocal and it was great. At the end of the film when Moore held a long shot on Bush someone shouted out "You F***ing MURDERER!"

Priceless.
Now that is a cinematic experience. We had all the clapping in my theatre, but then a conservative yelling "you're all sheep! you idiots!" every time people clapped. Good stuff al around for this film.

Here in Georgia there are several cinemas with armed police officers who will eject you if you make noise during the movie. Glad they're using my tax dollars to take care of these important crimes.

That's funny because I saw it last night and none of the people that he asked were cut off. All of them were shown walking away in their complete form without cuts.

And Moore did say that there was one exception.

Keep trying.

September is to soon. He should wait till the 3rd week in October. More impact, with enough time for the film to resonate for the ouster of Bush.

Let's just count the distortions you just posted, shall we?

1) fudging the way the movie presents it (it doesn't just end with "no", it shows the Congressman agreeing to hand out literature with, or at least for, Moore)

2) not his son, his nephew [which was a dodge; Moore was asking about his immediate family, and he answered by digging into his extended family to find an example]

3) he did *not* say "my son [or nephew] is already fighting in Afghanistan", he specifically said his nephew was going to be deployed to Afghanistan, which he was, some time later.

He also has another nephew, since then, who was sent to Iraq, though he didn't mention that to Moore. He tried to pretend that he did publicly, so Moore released the transcript and the unedited footage that showed that the Congressman was lying.

A Congressman lying? It's a national scandal!

Yeah, Moore may have an axe to grind, but after the accusations of his fudging the truth with "Bowling for Columbine" he made damn sure that everything in F9/11 was balls-on accurate.

In fact, there are few quick cuts to distort anything. Many of the cuts, especially from the footage that Moore and his crew shot, were very long and somewhat complete.

He did time-compress the seven minutes that Bush sat there reading to school children after hearing the words "America is under attack" but he shows the timer in the film, and you can see the raw footage online.

I don't necessarily always agree with Moore's politics - he's VERY far to the left and is anything but fair and balanced, but this is a very well made film that's factually accurate.

If any major criticism could be levelled against it, it would be that the film reveals little new information. But many Americans may not know about much that was discussed in the film, so the amount of "new information" will vary from viewer to viewer.

Exactly!!! The best thing to come of this film is that it gets people talking and thinking. Kudos to Moore for doing that and much more.

Doesn't the film already have director commentary? I can just see a whole new outbreak of people talking about Moore lying and bending facts, but this time it's about what he said in the commentary!

I would definitely like to own this kind of coverage on recent events on DVD, but I wouldn't want it in the form of Fahrenheit 9/11.

That's four complete sentences without a break. I don't think Bush could do that.

Yeah, he'd need a vacation between all of that talking.

Obviously taking a hint from Cheyney.

They could do what was done on the Bowling DVD and have some of the crew/interns do the commentary. Not that it was entertaining or informative on that disc...
