That is Ian McDiarmid on the cover.

Because that emperor looks and sounds nothing like Ian McDiarmid's emperor that's in ROTJ and the prequel trilogy. That emperor in ESB was an old woman with monkey eyes superimposed over her's, and it looks godawful. This is one change that needed to be made years ago. Anything would look better than that shit.
That sinister shadowy emperor is a million times better than the grim reaper from Bil and Teds Excellent Adventure. Who gives a shit about fanboy moans like it isn't the same voice.

I though the Emperor looked fine in ESB.

Believe it or not I actually preferred that version of the emperor to ROTJ. He just seemed so omminous and his voice was a bit more spooky and mysterious. Although Ian was good, his version was a bit too Mr. Burns for my liking.

But all well, they might as well change it to match now.

Since Ian McDiarmid channeled "Mr. Burns" years before there was a Mr. Burns, perhaps Mr. Burns is a bit too "Emperor" for our liking.

I agree 100%. Not to start a whole thing with everyone here (or to sound like an interminable complainer), but I think the cover art is aweful. The only one I like is the Bonus Features disc, the others are rather uninspired. The original poster art is way better by a mile. Not that it will stop me from buying, of course...

Funny the bonus disc is called 'Star Wars Trilogy'. Perhaps, like the original original trilogy, the prequel trilogy just doesn't exist in George's eyes. (like a lot of people here!)

Maybe he'll release "special edition" versions of the new trilogy with David Prowse's face superimposed over Hayden Christensen's and extended Jar Jar scenes.

Maybe George is going to surprise us and replace Chewie with Jar Jar Binks in the OT. Which would explain why our favorite Wookie isn't on any of the covers.
