Yeah, they've been doing nearly every release in keepcases for the past two months. I believe Mystic River was one of the last holdouts (to encourage people to buy the 3-disc set, which was packaged in a cardboard digipak).

Time will tell, but their keepcases of late are a GOOD THING.

Not sure if you buy intl. dvd's, but there is a LE for Name of the Rose which has a much better looking cover. I have it on pre-order. You can find it on koreandvds.com, and yesasia.com I believe.

Amazon is showing Name of the Rose in a snapper case - so maybe we get to be disappointed after all:

No, it's in a keepcase. I've seen it with my own eyes.

See above. That's not a keepcase.

What's to say that the image above wasn't just preliminary?

Rusty James says that he's seen the actual product and it's in a keepcase. I don't see any reason to doubt him.

Yes, why doubt the word of Cool New Members who post that they have in their hands copies of discs that haven't been sent to reviewers yet?

It's a keepcase. Trust me on this. Why would I make it up? I know a little skepticism is healthy, but dude, relax. We're talking about a friggin' DVD case here.

And by the way, I'm just a plain old member now. No longer cool or new. Sigh.

Maybe because he's been around for 2 years? Maybe because there's no possible reason to lie about something so frickin trivial? Maybe just because it's the polite thing to do?

If no inserts is the "price" we have to pay to have keepcases instead of snappers, so be it. I'm very happy WB is finally abandoning the damn things.

Not really surprising to see no insert-WB's never had a need for them before now.

No reason to lie? Are you kidding me? Think of the bragging rights of being the first kid on your block to own the Red Sonja DVD. If you could claim that, that would really put the guy with the imported Austrailian copy of Conan the Destroyer: Special Edition in his place!

Oh, I wasn't taking your "no inserts" joke seriously. Just commenting on the fact that they're not there, and it doesn't matter.
