I haven't minded the roman numerals for years, but those covers are pretty bad. I seriously hope they're photochops.

That is Ian McDiarmid on the ESB cover. Looks just about like he did in ROTJ, rather than the Emporer that was used in the original version of ESB.

Umm, this is an Internet message board filled with Star Wars freaks and fanatics....of course they're gonna complain about every worthless detail. Once again, the box looks fine, the movies are classics...any SW fan who pretends like they're not gonna buy this is lying out their ass.

I, for one, hate the art. But, it certainly isn't going to stop me from buying the set.

HATE the roman numerals. This will only inspire more people to say things like "I've been a fan of the Star Wars films ever since I saw Episode IV as a kid". The first movie is called Star Wars. Period. That's what it was called back in 77 when I saw it, that's what it'll always be. I don't care what the director now says.

I don't see how you can tell the Emperor on the ESB DVD is not the same. The image is so small, I can't tell. They look the same as far as I can tell.
Actually, I'm not totally convinced that this is the real, official coverart.

I am sure that Lucas does not give a sht that you will not be buying them. Plenty of people will be purchasing them.
I applaud him for updating them with current technology. Like someone said earlier, they are his movies. I didn't like the whole 'Greedo shoots first' or the band scene in ROTJ, but I can get over it. Its no big deal to me.
As far as the cover art, it looks fine. I have seen better and I have seen worse. I like the box though.
It is about damn time.

And is that the SLAVE I on the cover of Return of the Jedi...or is that an A-Wing fighter? The skiff from the desert scene? Just asking, because the SLAVE I never made an appearance in ROTJ.

Those are not the covers the commercial showed! Now I'm less excited.
It's hard to tell if those are keepcases or cardboard digipaks. Let's hope they are in keepcases so they don't get scuffed quickly when slid into the trilogy box.
I speculate there to be IV-VI covers that match I-II after III has been released, after the final/archival versions of IV-VI have finished their theatrical runs. I also see a I-VI foldout digipak saga set (similar to Alien Quadrilogy) being released sometime in 2006-2007. It doesn't take the powers of the Force (TM) to predict such a marketing plan.
