Details: Hellboy
Hey
Columbia have announced the theatrical edition of Hellboy for release on the 27th July this year. Retail will be set at around $28.96. The full specs haven't been announced yet, although extras should include deleted scenes, an outtake reel, behind the scenes featurettes etc. The official artwork is attached below, and you can view menu shots here Columbia have also announced a special edition of the Del Toro directed Devil's Backbone for the 27th July. More details on that here Cheers!

I'll probably buy this edition, because I fear the extended cut may be held back, just like the Daredevil cut was. There's already a sequel planned for Hellboy, I fear the studio heads might hold the EE for cross-promotion.

We now have the extra feautres for Hellboy:
Full article here.
The two commentaries and the 150mins documentary have definitely sold me on this release.
Columbia Tristar have come through with the full details of their July 27th release of Guillermo Del Torro's Hellboy Special Edition. The movie will boast an anamorphic widescreen transfer and DD5.1 English audio.
Extra features on the first disc will include an audio commentary with actors Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Rupert Evans & Jeffrey Tambor; another audio commentary with director Guillermo del Toro & co-executive producer Mike Mignola; 8 branching DVD Comics by Mike Mignola (white rabbit-esque); 8 Right Hand of Doom set visits (white rabbit-esque); 4 short films featuring the cartoons Hellboy himself recommends; and a picture-in-picture storyboard track
The second disc will contain a 150mins Hellboy: The Seeds of Creation making-of documentary; 4 Animatics; 5 Board-A-Matic side-by-side scene comparisons; 3 deleted scenes (with optional commentaries); a del Torro scene deconstruction; 4 storyboard to film comparisons; 9 theatrical & TV spots; poster explorations; filmographies; and previews.

Well, I wasn't originally going to pick this up, was gonna wait for the extended 3-disc version, but this version looks to be a super-duper release in of itself, so therefore I may just pick this up.

Love Del Torro's audio commentaries! And I'm thrilled that he's being joined by Mignola on this one!
Glad that I was able to hold off on "The Devil's Backbone". I'll probably wait for the super-duper 3 disc release of "Hellboy", but I'll pick up the new release of "The Devil's Backbone" right away.

Daredevil does suck, but that's a discussion for another thread. Did you mean Devil's Backbone?

Considering how much is on this release, I can't imagine what other stuff they'll find to put on the extended version other than the longer cut of the film.
Either way, I'm buying both releases and The Devil's Backbone.
