Well, I was a pretty big fan of Season 1 & 2. Started to watch Season 3 and then 9/11 hit soon thereafter and I was like, "What the heck, here we had a dozen people trying to survive out in Africa, while we just had 3000+ people get killed. Operation Enduring Freedom became the real 'Survivor' for me."

I love Survivor, but I don't get the appeal of owning it on DVD. I could see renting it if you became a fan of the show after this one aired. At its heart, it is a game show, which makes it different than re-watching CSI, Law & Order, or something like that on DVD (which I love doing).

I picked up the only copy Circuit City had yesterday. I have to say that the packaging is excellent. The first 4 dvds are in clear Thinpaks and the "Outragous Moments" dvd is in a regular case. I hope they release the rest of the series.

I have an ulterior motive in picking up Survivor season one on DVD. You see I missed the first four seasons of The Amazing Race and I would really like to pick them up on DVD. I figure if CBS sees the Survivor series selling well maybe they will see the market in their other game shows *cough* Amazing Race *cough*.
I can dream can't I?

So you came into this thread why?
Again, I will have to buy this release so as CBS will hopefully release the other seasons.

Regualr TV needs an Colonoscopy
You gotta be kidding - so not only are we subjected to Survivor after Survivor after Survivor (how soon before they run out of places to do these stupid shows -- not to mention, just in general, Reality Show after Reality Show after Reality Show), if thats not bad enough, now we get to have it on DVD so we can mindlessly pour over it at our viewing whim rather than wait for the standard weekly lobotomoy schedule.
Network prime-time and sitcom television is the antichrist and the bane of my existence - I cant stand it - I cant remember the last regular "TV Show" I ever watched.

Luckily for us,you aren't the guy who decides what is worthy of being released and what isn't.

I am not saying that this is "the most worthy" or "most important" TV release or DVD release, jut that the IS an audience for this show, and it has just as much merit as many of the hotly debated films here that have petitions running (Goodburger, Just One of the Guys, etc).
With Survivor you either get it or don't, but Jesus, don't waste your time or ours by going out of your way to threadcrap.
