How many DVD's do you currently own?
Simple question.
How many DVD's do you currently own?
Not how many actual physical DVD's do you have, but how many Titles do you own on DVD.
Examples:
American Pie = 1
American Wedding Gift Set = 2 (1 for the movie, 1 for the Revealed disc)
Back to the Future Trilogy = 1 (3 Films, but in one case.
Universal Franchise Collections = 1
Lord of the Rings Extended Edition = 1
Superman Collection (Warner) = 4
Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 = 1
Alien Quadrilogy = 1
Basically, any titles that is in a box set and comes in it's own removeable case (Snapper/ Keep Case) is counted as 1 each. But if it's in one case or a DigiPack or similar package then it's counted as 1 regardless of how many discs/ movies are involved.
Don't include DVD's that are recorded on DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM are any other recordable formats.
Only include those that can be bought at any store, or on-line.

Juuuuuuuuuuuust tipped the 500 mark.
Would have been more too but I decided to get rid of some DVD's that I didn't need anymore. Such as the scooby doo series individual discs, since now I have seasons 1 and 2 on dvd, and so on.

I have around 545 DVDs, give or take. And for the record, I consider the BTTF Trilogy to be 3 separate DVDs since there are 3 movies included. Same goes for the Alien Quadrilogy being 4 DVDs.

Wow. The fact that so many own 500 or more is just scary to me.
I can't imagine having that many DVDs. I really, really can't.
Must be an addiction.
P.S. And that's a good question above - at what point do you stop buying movies to watch movies, and start buying movies just to buy movies - which you may watch once, then never again.

947 "cases" (since that's how I count) if you really want to know titles come over and count them yourself
Considering a lot of us have been at it since 98 or 99 it's really not all that much when you think about it (< 2 DVDs a week will get you to the 500 mark, considering in the beginning there were a lot of freebies and other deals 2 DVDs a week was an easy thing to do
).

It's not like all re-watching has to be done within a year or two. I fully plan on having my DVD's for a long time to come.
