Maybe if you watch the movies in one shot, there will be impact.
That is the answer that we are looking for! Is there a point? The whole concept of taking one movie and cutting it into portions just to be cool (look QT, Star Wars, LOTR and the Matrix all had cliffhangers . . . we realize that this isn't really diffferent movies like those, but we could bring back the serial!) and milk moviegoers out of more money has so far seemed absurd and distractive to the point of the movie. Please prove me wrong!

Seriously, I don't see how knowing/not knowing the name impacts the enjoyment of the movie one way or the other. It has zero impact on the plot.
Hmm.... someone hasn't seen The Usual Suspects, have they

I realize that you're just joking around, but I did want to point out the difference...

In that film, the name reveals someone's secret identity. The whole film is actually about trying to determine that fact, so to reveal it would obviously be a spoiler.

In Kill Bill, the name is just that... a name. You can call her The Bride, Jane Smith, Black Mamba, Beatrix Kiddo, or Throatwarbler Mangrove. It makes no difference to the way the film plays out. It ain't a spoiler, even if Tarantino decided to play cute and beep it out of the first movie.

Yep, I'm sure we covered that in one of the many Kill Bill threads. (that, along with the possible but unlikely Beatrix Potter reference)

(That's one choice)

But he chose the 3rd option, he took shots out AND put them in b&w.

See Volume 2 and prove yourself wrong. The two movies are very different in tone. The division strengthens them. I don't think they'll work as well if slammed together into one ungainly long movie.

I think I agree with this. I finally saw it last night and was really struck by how different the two films were. The tone of V2 is different and the focus is on characterization and less on action. Both films were excellent, but very very different.
