Kill Bill Vol 1 Flawed?
 

On my copy, there are some strange "bleeps" beginning around 8 minutes in during Uma and Vivica's "conversation". Including some that cover dialogue. This is on the DTS and DD soundtracks... anyone else have this? I'm going to trade in my copy for a replacement, but was wondering if it's a common thing...

It is intentional ... they are bleeping out the Bride's name.

That is how it is supposed to be, they bleep it everytime someone says her name. You dont find out her name until the second part of the movie so returning your DVD will do nothing since every DVD will have this.

its not censorship since the director did it that way on purpose and its not like they are bleeping out a bad word.

Oh ... I just thought that she was Swahili.

We've got a couple of different Kill Bill threads going already and I believe both mentioned this....

i cant believe some people think that its a problem, it seemed so intentional thta i just dont see how people could think that was a something wrong

You know what pisses me off? USA Today had three different pieces about the Kill Bill movies the other day: a review of the DVD, a review of KB2, and a little article/interview with Uma. Both reviews did good about providing nothing revealing about the movie, so I read the interview, expecting to find nothing that would be construed as a "spoiler". They said her name!!!!!! This pisses me off because Quentin obviously intended to keep her name a secret, or at least unknown, until the second picture, or so I would assume. I still haven't seen the second one yet.

Now I know firsthand why they call them "spoilers".

Are you sure it's not an error? On my version it's not bleeped, they say her name is Mia Wallace.

The Providence Journal spoiled her name in a friggin' caption in their "Life" section on Friday. GRRRRRR!

Ditto that here! I would possibly understand if they never revealed her name, but why the big secret just to reveal it in the secod half (I still refuse to call it part 2). Just another senseless Tarantino gimmick.

I thought it was pretty cool, since Bill mentions her name right in the opening scene of Vol .1 before he shoots her.

Life is too short to take any of what gets discussed on this site that seriously, poopy-pants. Let's not over-analyze this, and agree to agree that we all knew it was a joke, regardless of whether you thought I thought so or not.
