^^ Bit harsh response to the original post, don't ya think?
However, I agree with your setiment though. To use the release of the Predator SE as the sole reason to buy a DVD player is a bit stupid. Not to mention "late to the party".

What stupid remark did he make? He asked if anyone knew when a certain title would be available, and he indicated that Predator was the reason he bought a DVD player. So what? Did you stop and think that maybe he was referring to the original release of the movie as being the reason he bought his player?
If you're going to blast someone, do it for the right reasons, and make sure you sound moderately intelligent. Otherwise, you just come off as being a complete, illiterate jerk. Here's three easy steps to follow:
1. In creating your posts, make sure to check your spelling and grammar.
2. Check your punctuation and capitalization.
3. Pick a legtimate subject to respond to that most people reading would agree with you on.
By the way, I've taken the liberty of correcting your errors:
"You're an idiot if you bought a dvd player just for a SE of Predator. <--- (period at the end of a statement, not a question mark) The first edition was good and this one isn't going to be spectacular. I hate when people make stupid remarks like that just to whine."
Kudos for spelling "spectacular" correctly. You had to look that one up, didn't you?

I'm pretty new here, but one thing never ceases to amaze me...and that's how rude a large portion of people on this site are, especailly when attacking new people. It seems like I read comments like the ones puddytay made above almost every day. What's the reason for it? Is it just to belittle someone to make yourself feel better? If so, that's truly sad.

I used to think they were snobish, but after reading countless of nasty responses to simple questions here, I have moved my DVD forum reading over there.

), no matter where you are. For the most part, the old-timers and the regulars are pretty good about taking care of the newcomers, as long as they are not trolling.Plus, c'mon man . . . bad form to plug another forum in here.

OT - D-Ball is probably right about it coinciding with Alien Vs. Predator. I'm looking forward to it . . . I've been holding off on picking it up ever since I heard an SE was coming.

WHile puddytay's response may be over the top, it worth mentioning that you should use a question mark in the thread title when you're asking a question.
That way people don't get excited and click into a thread thinking they're going to get information about a long-awaited title.

I didnt mean to sound hostile sorry. But I think my post is still warranted because his statement was just stupid. By his logic he bought a dvd player just for a SE dvd that hasnt even been announced. Hmmm... that makes alot of sense.

I will present this to you again: his initial statement could have implied that the original DVD release of Predator was the reason he bought his DVD player. Even if the opposite is correct, and he's purchased a player in anticipation of an edition that hasn't been released yet...who the hell cares?!? Do we, as Americans, not have the right to pretty much do whatever the hell we want for whatever reason? He bought a DVD player for reasons you don't personally agree with with. Oh, my God...ship his ass off to the funny farm. Go find something to attack about someone who's actually done some form of harm to society, and leave alone people who have done absolutely nothing to provoke your kind of inane ranting, ass-hair (that's a term I personally love to use, talemyn).
(I apologize to anyone who may have been put off by my "ranting", but I simply can't stand to see people attacked or put down for no good reason. That, and I also can't stand the word "stupid" when used in that context.)
