Well, that was me, so sorry for the comparison I guess. Maybe something like NYPD Blue would be more accurate, since it's a gritty police drama, but with more focus on the case and less relationship stuff that probably isn't the best comparison either. Anyways, it's a wonderful show that I can't wait to own.
I was shocked, however to see that the mini second season won't be included (especially since I missed the last run of new episodes when they were dumped over Christmas. What could they be saving them for; I stongly doubt we'll ever see a S2 release.
BTW Great price alert: It's only $26.95 at DDD. I'm always cautious with Artisan releases since their prices tend to plummet a few weeks after release (see Kingpin miniseries for $9, Dune for $14), but for $27, I'll take the plunge now.

w00t! My order shipped yesterday.
Unfortunately, it shipped from DDD and will probably take two weeks to get here.
When someone gets a chance to check out the set, please post here.

Mine just shipped on Tuesday from DDD! I've been looking forward to this one, since I only caught a handful of episodes when it was on Sunday nights. One of the best shows I'd seen in a while.

Got this yesterday. Used a GC and free shipping and got it for $24.99 from Amazon. Was impressed as hell to get it the day after release with Amazon's free shipping. Lately free shipping for books and stuff I've order has been 2 weeks or more.
I was dissappointed to see that it was only Season 1. I missed the news that it wasn't going to be the complete series.
I hope Season 2 comes out, I'm sure it will if this sells well, as they can cash in again. But if this set sells poorly I doubt we'll ever see those 6 episodes on DVD.

S2 wasn't great anyway. Good, but not as good as S1.

I've finished the first two discs (8 episodes).
I really like it so far (except for the episode w/ the Russian mob - what the hell was that?)
It's a good balance between characters and cases - too many shows either spend too much time on the cases (CSI, L&O) or too much time with the characters. Boomtown has good balance and I also like the split-up time line they use to tell their stories.
