You'll be much happier spending about $4 here:

The movie is time from your life you'll never get back. The book is time you'll actually enjoy.

Rent it! It's a worthy rental....mainly for the 45 minute behind the scenes documentary.

I actually enjoyed it. I hated the book and I'm a huge Crichton fan. Other than Paul Walker I think it was decent enough. But I can see into the future, this being priced below $14 (maybe $10) within 6 months.

If you see it on a shelf, walk out of the store, drive back home, and never think about it again.
Nobody needs that kind of pain in these fragile times. And I'm a huge Donner fan.
It stinks!

I loved the book, it's one of my favorites of Crichton's...but the movie was TERRIBLE. I expected a much better film when I learned Donner was directing. Too bad.

I was a big fan of the book (when is the next Crichton book coming out... it's been a while) and was excited to see the movie especially considering Donner directed it and it had a pretty cool teaser trailer. After reading the abominable reviews I passed. Maybe I'll rent it, but since I liked the book so much I don't want the movie to also ruin the book for me.

The film was bad, not sure about the extras on the disc. Don't pick it up, maybe wait till it is off the new rental shelf at Blockbuster so you can get it cheap, and you want do one of their rent 3 for $X.XX or whatever special they have.

I read the book. Then I saw the film in the theater. I knew it had bad reviews before I saw it. This helped to keep my expectations low. It isn't good, but it isn't too bad either. I liked the red-headed chick.
Anyhow, for the cheapest $18.30 at DVDSoon I'd say don't buy it. Wait for the price to drop to around $10, like I plan to do, then I'll buy it to see it again and to own a copy.
