Thank you D-Ball, and I actually enjoyed this movie a lot. Of course, I have never read the novel so perhaps that helped. I will be keeping this DVD in my collection!

I didn't think it was that bad. Not that I'd give it a glowing recommendation, but I picked it up used and it was fine for the price. Like many Sci-Fi flicks, very contrived. Don't spring for it new, but I'd rate it a fair.

You know, for all the negativity this movie gets, I rarely hear anyone explain what specifically makes this movie a lemon. Don’t get me wrong; I am sure many here (most?) have legitimate reasons for disliking the film; it just seems that it is never discussed.

Sure, some folks have made reference to an incomprehensible plot, but at the risk of providing spoilers, what about the plot was particularly problematic? And if the acting was so atrocious, what characters and lines of dialog were poorly acted, or otherwise badly written.

Again, it is not my intent to necessarily challenge everyone. I simply want to know what it is about the movie that makes it such a poor film to so many people.

Dudes, this movie is nowhere near as bad as others have posted. My guess is that those who slammed this movie probably has never seen it. It wasn't a great movie or a bad movie. It provided entertainment for 2 hours which is what movies are supposed to do.

Sure, the plot in this movie, like the Core is a huge stretch but so what?!? It's a movie people! While I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it (like $20), but it's worth the 14.99 opening day price, or at the very least a used $9.99 price.
