X2: Buy now or wait for 2.5?

I've been looking for a good excuse to upgrade to 1.5 for awhile now, I even promised Peter Staddon at the HTF years ago that I would rebuy if they re-released in DTS. A price drop the week before my birthday is a good reason.
And yes the anti drug PSA is kinda stupid, but it's not forced or anything, you have to choose it from the menu. If you look up an old post from it's release, I mentioned thinking it was going to be an "in universe" anti-mutant PSA. It's just a regular one though.
Slightly OT, did anybody see the one on Chapelle's show a few weeks ago? "If you're a 12 year old girl on crack, don't ride your bike in front of drive thrus. " Had me rofling

Yeah. Why hold out? How do you know you will even still be around tomorrow? Why not just enjoy it today?
Ok...maybe slightly morbid,...but that's the way I personally do things. Yes, I could hold out and pray something better comes out,...but if there is no official news about a re-release with something new on the disk that I MUST have, then I buy the movie, and enjoy it today.

I wouldn't wait for another release. The current version has one of the best transfers that I have ever seen and one of the best DTS tracks as well. The extras are a plenty as well. I seriously don't know what they can add. It was a different story with the first X-Men because it didn't have DTS or even a commentary so a rerelease made sense.

Yes, clearly. Anyone who opposes drug-war propaganda must be a crackhead. Well done.

When it gets the price drop I'll definitely buy X2. Didn't like the first one though, so no 1.5 for me.

But when is X3 due out ? Isnt Bryan Singer doing Logans Run ?Will they wait for him to finish that and let him do X3 or go with a new director ?
Either way, it will be a while before that film comes out so cant see them re releasing X2 yet.

Bryan Singer is going to be busy for the next year helping write the Ultimate X-Men comic books. From reports, the end of his run should transfer over to the X3 movie. Or at least that is what it said in the report back on newsarama.com

The bottom line on this is simple: They are, at the very least, two years away from the third X-MEN film. Does anyone think FOX will re-release X2 on DVD without a theatrical tie-in? Of course not. So odds are that you are going to have a long wait for something that isn't even likely to be done in the first place. The answer to this is a no brainer, so make sure you aren't one and go get the beautifully produced X2 DVD today!
P.S. Hey X Fans: Does anyone remember seeing a tv spot some weeks prior to X1 being released in theatres that was a mock campaign commercial for the Senator character played by Bruce Davison? It was just like a ordinary political tv spot for a re-election candidate until the end when they said he was the only Senator running on an ANTI-MUTANT ticket. It was brilliant! I haven't watched all the extras on either film, but is this spot anywhere in sight?

They'll rerelease X-Men 2 for sure, it just won't be a 2.5 edition. It'll be like a Tricked-Out edition that's worse than the current one but has tons of promo stuff for X3. It's a Hollywood studio, so anything to make a buck.

It's unfortunate that that never made it onto DVD.

They make them pretty tempting to purchase especially when they include a free ticket with them. So if the disk is $14.99 to buy on sale on release date, and it includes a movie ticket that usually saves you about $8.50 at the theater,...$6.49 is next to nothing to some. Especially if you never bought the X2.
But yeah, I agree. Re-releasing sucks.
