I live in the Walmart bargain bin. Lots of great stuff to be had in there. Like someone mentioned earlier, I'm near a store that puts all its bargain dvds on a nice shelf. Here are some I got from there:
Black Sunday
Body Double
Cabin Boy (ridiculous yet highly entertaining)
Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter
Casualties of War
Creepshow
Dark City
Exorcist III
Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell
Frogs
Italian Job 1969 (pricing mistake. score!)
Raising Cain
Return of the Pink Panther
Tales from the Crypt: Robert Zmeckis Collection (this one was from a long time ago though... haven't seen it in the past year or so)
The Underneath

And here are a few I've gotten in bargain bins from other stores:
Assault on Precinct 13 (Walgreens)
eXistenZ (Circuit City)
Four-Sided Triangle (Kmart)
Tapeheads (Kmart)
Targets (Kmart)

As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of the bargain bins. Great stuff can be had with just a little looking.

Mute Witness - it's a really good creepy movie and 5.50 seems to be the cheapest it will ever be.

It doesn't look like anyone's mentioned Hercules in New York, complete with Ahnuld's original voice-track. That's my all-time bargain bin gem.

I never pass up the Walmart Bin.... In the past year these are some of the best I've bought.

Wall Street
Creepshow
Victory (the Sly soccer movie)
Towering Inferno
Batman The Movie
Oscar
Diner
American Flyers
Ladyhawke

I often see titles I want in there, only to toss them back when realize they are Full Screen only, but for those that dont mind
Deathtrap with Christopher Reeves and Michael Caine is one I want...

I found Titan AE a while back (and have yet to watch it). As for "Best DVD in the Walmart Bin" in terms of audio/video, didn't this one get high praise. It's THX certified isn't it?

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
I've gotten lots of decent titles there in the past, but my local Walmart's bin is now completely loaded with hundreds of titles I've never heard of from companies I've never heard of. It's bizarre.

I used to see a lot of Fox and CTS titles in there, now it's all old public domain stuff and brazilian horror movies.

Thats a good pick-up as far as audio/video (THX Certified) and the actual movie itself is good too so for $5.50 it is indeed one of the best in the bin...

Note that I'm in Canada. I haven't got a clue if our Wallmart bins are supposed to contain the same stuff as yours.

These are my picks as the best that are or have been in the Wal-Mart bin.

Ones bought before they were in the Bargain Bin.
Dark City
Godzilla (1998)
Gremlins
Passenger 57
The Peacemaker
Starship Troopers
Tigerland
Titan A.E.

Bought from the Wal-Mart Baragin Bin:
Casualties of War
The Last Castle (Never saw this one before, and pleasantly surprised, way better than Spy Game)
Peggy Sue Got Married
Stay Tuned
Towering Inferno

One bought from Walgreen's
Wagon's East ($2.50 X-Mas sale)

Ones still wanted in are:
Blue Thunder
Poseidon Adventure
