Just One Of The Guys --- The Sad Truth

As was talked about previous a month or two ago, this is in fact in full screen only. I was hoping for a mistake and have them actually do this in 16:9 but sadly, no.

My question to you is, will you buy it even though it is full screen only?

Damn the makers! I'll probably end getting this if it's 9.99. i just don't see any chance of another version being released.

I won't be buying it, or renting it. (I don't rent DVDs anyway, so that last part's moot) I definitely would have bought it if they'd released it in WS; I saw it in the theater when it came out, and loved it. Just not enough to buy it in fullscreen.

No way. Maybe when it gets to the $5 price level a year or two from now.

Never heard of it. So I won't be picking up either version.

A big no. One of the few people who has been listing this as one of my most wanted DVD releases since I first joined this forum. But I just can't buy it for a barebones full screen release.

I'm not happy about it, but I will buy it.

I seriously doubt it will ever be released in Widescreen, so I might as well pick it up.

I'd like to, but since I can't really afford this type of thing right now I probably won't unless it makes it to the $6 bin at Wal Mart

I love this movie to death.
I am really pissed off about it being full screen.
But for the sake of my worn vhs, I'll have to buy it.

F U columbia, anyway.

Agreed. It's a shame really. I don't buy into the whole "the only way to get the message is to NOT buy fullscreen" arguement. Companies will continue to spit out fullscreen of catalog titles just to save money, not buying it because it is in fullscreen only will not pass along that message. The only message sent will be "the movie must not be good", which means they will never release it in any other form anyway.

Nope, but I wouldn't have bought it if it was WS either.

I'll pick it up in 6-12 months when it ends up in Wal-Mart's $5.50... with the rest of Columbia's FS transfers.

perhaps once it has fallen to under $10 - but no way in hell i'll pay $20 for it....I'm SOOOOOO pissed that this is FS - i honestly can't believe it....it is one of my absolute favorites from the 80s...it is truly a travesty.

btw: I voted twikoff only for your "full screen this!" addition...that should really be an option here to get a true feel: "Hell NO! But I would have if they did it right those goddamned bastards!!"

I love this movie and used to watch it all the time but I just can't justify spending almost $18 for a FS copy. I'll be waiting by the Wally World $6 bin.

I love this movie and have seen it countless times on HBO in full screen, so I'll still buy the DVD even though I'd prefer it in WS.

Rule One: No OAR = No SALE

I, too, would have bought this it were 16x9 and had at least the trailer as an extra. Alas, I have other movies to buy. It's a shame because I LOVE this movie. I didn't buy a widescreen TV just to play movies that aren't released in their theatrical aspect ratio.

No way. P&S = no sale

It sucks because there are a lot of movies that don't get proper treatment. I am still waiting for a lot myself.

I'll be buying this when the price drops to replace my worn out VHS copy. Obviously one would prefer to see this in its OAR but as others have plainly said, the likelihood of this happening is beyond remote. Additionally, the MSRP for this title considering it's in Fullscreen and utterly lacking in extras seems like a cruel and absurd joke for fans who have been patiently waiting for this to finally see the light of day.
