Anchor Bay is releasing a Dawn of the Dead box set early next year (and I'm looking very forward to it ).

Swamp thing is OOP
MGM recalled the earlier release, after they discovered it was the unrated European release (contains a lot of nudity not in the US release), and from what I hear, they destroyed all the copies. If it does come out again, it will be the US PG release.

Please, in the future, use a question mark in your thread title if you are looking for informaton rather than providing information - a lot of people will be looking at this thread because they think you have some news on these titles.

I think that part of the problem wasn't just the PG rating. I remember hearing that MGM might not have the rights to release the R cut in the U.S.
I could be wrong though.

1. There is a question as to whether or not MGM actually has the rights to the international cut. Rumors are that they only have distribution rights to the U.S. PG cut.
2. Even if they do have the rights, they cannot "simply label it as the R". They would have to label it as unrated or resubmit to the MPAA for a rating.

A little while back I was trying to find out if the R2 version contains the more explicit international cut. I'm assuming yes for obvious geographical reasons, but does anyone know for sure?

I am one of those who didn't really care for the Swamp Thing movie but bought a copy from amazon.com the morning it was announced it was being pulled off the shelf (got my order in like at 6:30 am, before the DVD became one of their top five selling DVDs and they sold out of their inventory) so I still have it sealed. Maybe I could get good money off of amazon.com for it?
