I am a DVD nut and I probably own 500+ dvd's. However, I am ALSO a Star Wars nut. After waiting in vain for Lucas to stop tripping on whatever it is he's taking, and make the ORIGINAL Star Wars DVD's, I decided to purchase a LD player and the Definitive SW laserdiscs to make my own! My investment wasn't that much for the player and the movies. I now have GREAT quality dvd's of these 3 movies that we are told will NEVER be released. I still have a hard time believing that the money-hungry Lucas will not release these dvd's in different formats (original, special editions, special special editions, limited special special special editions, etc)..... How many times did he release them on VHS (and laserdisc)? I hope like heck he does release them in original form, but even if he doesn't I can take pride in having these dvd's on my shelf... and I owe it all to LASERDISC !!
