DVDTracker down, down and out?...
I'm getting some pretty non-customer friendly behavior when trying to access DVDTracker tonight. It appears to be "offline". Anyone else having the same problem?
Are they doing maintenance, going out of business or what?
I've got one of the bigger collections logged on there and would be really bummed if they just "pulled the plug". Especially when I got home today and found a bunch of DVD shipments I wanted to log.

I emailed them a few minutes ago and also sent along the address of this thread. Hopefully I'll get a response as well a reply here.
If anyone's wondering, the email I have for them is [email protected]

I also mailed them earlier as well... I think their other tracker sites are down too, so I think it was less likely a "mistake" for a certain DNS entry or something like that, unless the DNS entry affected all of their sites, making it a bigger than average "mistake".
If this was something planned on their part, I really wish I'd have been warned. If it was temporary, I can live with doing other things for a period of time while they do whatever they need to do.
If it is permanent, I would have liked to have been warned to have the opportunity to export an excel spreadsheet of my entries. It will be near impossible to enter data for over 2500 titles back in another utility/site, especially with a lot of my purchase info, etc. in it that I'd have to track down through emails, etc. again to get.
I really hope that they fix this soon.

I just came home and was on my way to this thread to ask the same question. Still unable to connect and still no response in email. A free service with downtime I can tolerate but I get irritated when it's a paid service and I receive no notification from the owner.

Well, the DNS and domain registration information are all current and functioning. DNS runs on the same box that provides the web hosting. However, the web server is currently refusing connections.
I would guess that there is some problem with the server. Perhaps the database got corrupted or the server got infected by one of these recent SQL worms or something. I bet it's probably only a temporary downtime though. If it's a database problem, one would hope that he makes nightly backups of the database. If not, that would suck.

Doesn't look like any explanation either. What a way to run a business. If Ihad been paying for this I would start using something else. You guys who use it at least deserve an "Oops, sorry we had some maintenance."

I wonder how many people are "exporting" all of their tracker lists right now. I know I did just now for insurance. I hope come Monday we get a good explanation on this. I do notice that laserdisctracker.com seems to not be referencable. I just went there to get my list, though I haven't visited there for a couple of years now.
If it was a hacker attack, hope he has plans for better security...

I just sent an email back to the guy who responded to my inquiry about the earlier site outage. Hopefully that helps get his attention to fixing it sooner.

I was finally able to add the new DVDs I've gotten this weekend.
I'm not taking any chances from now on.
