Fargo SE Announced!!!!

I didnt see this reported any where, but I thought I would create a thread about it. IGN.DVD reports a Fargo SE is coming on.

The Coen Brothers' Fargo was one of the earliest DVDs released, and now MGM is revisiting it with a full special edition on September 30th to tie in with the Coen's new movie Intolerable Cruelty.

For $24.95, you'll get the film in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen video and an all-new Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. Not enough for ya? Here are the special features on the disc, and hit the media section below for a look at the cool packaging the DVD will come in:

Audio commentary with director of photography Roger A. Deakins.

New documentary: "Minnesota Nice".

Interview with the Coen Brothers and Frances McDormand.

Trivia Track.

Photo gallery

Hidden menus and "other surprises".
IGN FARGO SE

I have for so long been wanting this movie. I AM SO GLAD IT IS FINALLY COMING OUT.

The Fargo SE has been out for a while now on Reg 2. You guys just get the Reg 1 a bit later than us (though god alone knows why).

Great news, I hope they consider the movie release poster as a cover:

Excellent news! I was thinking about ordering the R2 version, but now that won't be necessary. MGM needs to hurry up and annouce the 2-disc Misery release for R1 to save me some more money.

Great news, I hope they consider the movie release poster as a cover:
Haha, first ever needlepoint slipcover?

Maybe they should bring back those LE numbered snowglobes they packed with the VHS. I still have mine somewhere in storage.

I was thinking the same thing. Or at least include a coupon for dvdcoverart.com so I can get a replacement for free!

Sweet. I've held off on buying this for such a long time that the thought of actually owning it almost brings a tear to my eye. Once we have an animorphic Raising Arizona my Coen Bros. collection will be complete!

Cover is disappointing indeed. Why use the same art as the previous edition?

Hmm... Not really enough there to make me want to upgrade from the last release which is anamorphic, 5.1 DDS and includes the trailer....

A commentary from the directors and/or stars - Maybe. Short of that, I'll pass.......

Do you think the studio will edit the cover and remove the pool of blood under the body before release? I wouldn't be suprised........

I dont think they will actually. I think they will leave it to entice some people to buy it that have never seen this movie. I think the blood on the snow is good symbolism and work well together.

It sounds like the map might be printed on the reverse side of the cover, meaning MGM could be using clear cases for some DVDs now, too.
