Since we're on the Robing Hood topic, anyone know if the classic Robin Hood with Errol Flynn & Olivia de Havilland is ever comming out?

The Errol Flyyn version (my favorite film of all time) will be out by Christmas. I'm too lazy to find the thread for you, but Warner is finaly pushing their early classics.

Does anybody know what the proper aspect ratio is for this movie?

I purchased the original release some years ago and the transfer on that disc wasn't much wider than 1.78:1. It seemed as though it was much wider than that in the theater.

All I ask is that, either on Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Tides SE or Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood SE, that the Daffy Duck "Robin Hood" cartoon be included as an extra.

Do you mean Barbra? She's digitally inserted for the Christian Slater character. They call her Yentl Scarlett.

The only "problem" that some people may have is that only the extended cut is on the dvd which may or not be as good as the original cut aka amadeus.

It wasn't a typo.

Costner's "Robin Hood" film is a namby-pamby, politically correct, and sickeningly treacly abomination. Much like Barbara Streisand!

More like something from Mecha Streisand. I prefer the 1938 version too. Better music, story, acting, action. And best of all, no Bryan Adams!

I'm also a fan of the BBC Robin of Sherwood series.

You bet! Anything for DVD's which have isolated scores, especially in 5.1!

I got the old one. Couldnt believe it was a flipper. My first flipper when I got it. I was so dissapointed in the medium at the time, I mean it was brand new and they couldnt even fit an entire movie on one side. thank god for dual layer. Id replace it for this reason alone.

Is there a date for the Flynn movie?

And what's up with Mel Brooks' When Things Were Rotten?

I got the barebones version from Buy, Bid, Win (anyone else remember them???) for $4.99, so I don't mind too much doing the double dip on this one even if I just give my old copy away.

Looks great, but I hate these cardboard cases as the shelf life really decreases....

Not one of the greatest movies ever made ....

But

I enjoyed it a lot watching it when I recieved the VHS as a gift so 20 dollars and tax is worth it for some sentimental value.

Huh...i have to say i'm a bit surprised that we get a "live" version of the Bryan Adams song instead of the original video which included scenes from the movie.

Always something right?
