fantastic!

When I saw this thread yesterday, I didn't read it because I thought it was another one of those "When's Seinfeld coming to DVD?" threads. Then I saw the story at Davis DVD this morning.
This is very good news. Hopefully these won't be on a release schedule like The Simpsons. Commentaries will be nice, but they're not necessary on every episode. |
I read somewhere that TBS, or TNT (cant remember which) had paid some insane amount of money for Seinfeld until 2006 or whatever-(it was for a long time) so a DVD release would be out of the question since they paid so much for the rights and a DVD release would eat into their profits.

Originally posted by Cosmic Bus I can see it now... Columbia Tristar Home Video announced today the long-awaited arrival of Seinfeld on DVD. Available exclusively in this DVD compilation, Seinfeld: The Best Of will feature the ten best episodes as voted by the readers of 'Martha Stuart Living' magazine. Retailing for an estimated $59.95, the DVD will include... ;) |

I declare today a holiday in honor of this announcement.
Happy Festivus everyone. Festivus for the rest of us!!! |
NEED DVD-ROM FEATURE!
Please god, no SHRINKAGE!!! Hopefully, they'll include seasons 1 and 2 together.
But what I NEED is a text based script viewer that is searchable by keyword. And a cumulate index with each seasons set. Wouldn't you love to find where and when certain words/phrases first appeared? Am I asking too much? I'm a VERY BAD MAN! |
Here's some more from DavisDVD.com....

Will there be a coffee table version?
Of course, since there is a trickle of information of an actual release, this may cause a new rush of newbies posting a question for a definite date. Mods, you may want to make this one a sticky so it's always posted where newbies can see it. |
I can't believe what I'm reading. By the way, these pretzels...they're making me thirsty.

Great and unexpected news!

DavisDVD saying maybe late this year.
I find that ridiculously optimistic. Extras are looking nice, and the commentaries aren't necessary for each episode (although it appears most of the cast certainly has the time). |
Oh, and...
GGGGIDDYUP!!!! |
The real question is...."Who is the Master of Their Domain?"
-pedagogue ps. (Starts to put money aside so he can buy the complete series on DVD) |

This is a no brainer for me, screw the price.
(Of course taking into consideration that I gave up on the X-Files because of their price ;)) |

What a great month this has been for DVD news! Disney speeds up the Platinum Editions, Indiana Jones is announced, Blockbuster is going widescreen, and now this. I expect the apocalypse any day now.
Oh, and another thing...you know what? NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! |
It's nice to see this most anticpitated dvd set is back on the wagon..or is it off the wagon??..hmmmm
As long as we don't get the dreaded "best of" sets we'll all be happy |
