Paramount DVD Covers
Why did Paramount take it's 'Widescreen Collection' logo and move it from the bottom of the DVD cover, where it had been for 3 years, and move it to the top of the DVD cover? I just want one good reason.

Yes, it annoyed me (at the time) that they moved the banner.
Inconsistencies like that don't look good on our shelves. Thank goodness for custom cover artwork.

I think it's because when you flick through those CD-style storage/display racks (front to back, like Suncoast, as opposed to left to right, like Best Buy), it helps minimize consumer confusion that leads to Joe-Sixpack accidentally buying "one of them thar DVDs with them thar damnable black bahrs on 'em"--this way, they can see what they'd be getting before they even pull a title out of the rack...

Just for clarification, I do realize that there was a widescreen version of CHARLOTTE'S WEB released--I only mean to make the point that, as long as there is a single Paramount title offered in a format other than widescreen, then my conjectured reason behind moving the "Widescreen" banner to the top becomes clear...

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
You're all assuming that Paramount had a plan and a good reason for moving the banner. Could it be that they simply wanted to differentiate the newer releases from the older releases?
Especially now that they've begun to re-release some of their older titles (but where's my Top Gun: SE, Paramount? WHERE?).
