I bought the first 4 seasons of the X-Files, for an average of about $100 each. I eventually sold them realizing that I really couldn't afford another $500 to complete the set.

That would be my Monty Python's Complete Flying Circus (14 DVD) box set. The cost to Finland was, taking in account taxes, customs and postages, around 185 euros / dollars.

Of course I realize that part of the excitement for a movie collector comes from owning precisely the rare edition of a movie. Still, besides the optional subtitles and different cover art, the set is same and serves me well.

I am assuming you didn't mean series such as ST:TNG so I would have to say my:
