The Most Expensive DVD Box Set You Own?
Sort of a companion to the 'The Most Expensive DVD You Own' thread. What's your most expensive complete series or box set?
Me, it would have to be the $208 I just shelled out for the nine disk Macross TV set.

Hmmm, my most expensive complete series is either the complete Star Trek: The Next Generation or my complete James Bond collection (doesn't include Die Another Day, of course).

I paid $90 each for the first two seasons of The X-Files before I found out about ordering them from Canadian sites. The most expensive complete series I have would be The Twilight Zone; I paid a total of $272 for the 5 TZ collections.

Ok, ok, it would really be the Escaflowne TV box for which I had to fork over $186 on E-Bay.

Yeah I hear ya. I try not to think too hard about it. Anime is too friggin' expensive!
The sad part is $208 ($69 x 3 three disk boxes) is still about $35 less than most places wanted for it.
All I can say is thank God for fat tax refunds.

Either The Avengers Emma Peel DVDs, or the Prisoner series, since I bought both well before they were available in the cheap "complete" sets. I'd guess I paid about 150 or so for the sets.
Luckily I got one of the Sopranos free, or it would be almost as bad.

Volume 1 Box of the James Bond series received as a birthday gift, back in the last century. I still have the box and all DVDs that were in it. Lady says my fingerprints check out, I am James Bond I am cleared to view. Sexiest voice since the SAL 9000 computer of Doctor Chandras AKA 2010.

One of these days it'll be The Woody Allen Collection #1. Comes w/ 8 of Woody's best works in the early days. $121.50. That'll be about the most expensive I'll ever buy.

Even worse: by the time I finish my Dark Shadows collection there will be 25 volumes... Each one is $43 at DDD, with 40 episodes... So that means about $1075 (for about 1000 eps...)
Egads! I must be insane!

I got my Classic Monster Collection for $500 from Vinny before it went OOP. He said the MSRP was well over $750 so I felt bad taking it from him, but I guess you could say someone got a steal of a deal.
