I am 27 and got a chance to see it during its re-release. I loved it and almost instantly decided to buy it when it comes out on DVD this week. I would say that if you have an open mind to fantasy that this will work for you no matter what your age. I bought it not only for myself, but also for my daughter, who I am sure will love it as well. Give it a shot.

Afandi, what the hell? He was just asking a question. No need to call him "shallow" or "narrow minded" because he is curious whether a movie is right for him.

Look at it in the same way you would the Harry Potter franchise. Even though it's a series based on children's books, people of all ages enjoy it. No, you're not too old.

I don't think you can ever be too old to enjoy cartoons (anime). I'm 43, soon to be 44, and enjoy all the old cartoons from when I was younger and enjoy anime as well. I've never seen Spirited Away, but I will be picking it up tomorrow from all the good things I've heard about it.

I thought the animation was pretty cool, and I'm a fan of animation in general, but I really didn't connect with this film at any point. I'd rent first. BTW, I'm 22.

Once you admit you're too old.... then the terrorists have won
Seriously, don't limit yourself by thinking you're too old. You could miss a great flick.
Next thing, you'll be 30... THEN you're too old

I bought the fantastic 2 disc Jap version of this about 5 months ago as a blind buy after a bunch of good reports for it.
It has led to me buying 3 other Miyazaki movies as blind buys ( Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro, Porco Rosso) and havnt been dissapointed yet.
It makes you realise how child like and sacherine sweet most of disneys movies are, and how animation can be done to appeal across the spectrum. eg without all the singing and dancing that disney insist on..I hate that
So my 0.02c worth, is it worth a blind buy...yes
ps..Im 30, so age is all in the mind grasshopper

There's no such thing as "too old" for something you enjoy.
I think most people were missing the point of your question, though, which is whether or not "Spirited Away" is aimed more at a younger audience or if it's a good film for someone who's not a child.
Like, I would say you'd be too old for the Rugrats movie (because it was awful) but children who like the series seem to like it.
Spirited Away isn't a cartoon as much as an animated adventure film. It's gorgeous - go buy it.

I was gonna post, but I think you get the idea (in a big way) from the others. Ah, heck, I posted anyway.
Another chalk line for never too old for cartoons/anime/animation films, sitcoms, what have you. Haven't you ever heard .. other than more responsibilities, we're all just big kids.
I'm, well, I'll just say, over 30 and I own 2 muppet movies, Monsters, Inc., Bug's Life, multiple anime titles and don't have any kids.
Honestly, some animated films are regarded more highly than the majority of what's coming out of Hollywood these days anyway. If it's a good film regardless of genre or the inclusion of actual actor/esses, then what's the gig? It's cool. As far as a blind buy, well .. that's up to you to decide. .. can't comment on the film as I haven't seen or heard about it.
Heck, if it's that bad, there's always eBay and a multitude of fresh meat ..
