RUMOR MILL: MGM's 2003 slate!
From Digital Bits: (so take it with the usual grain of salt)

Here's a great bit of DVD information that's come to us in the last few days from retail sources here in the U.S. and Canada. It's a look at MGM's planned DVD release slate for the rest of 2003! Keep in mind that all of these dates and titles are tentative until officially announced:
7/22 - Nicholas Nickleby
8/5 - Agent Cody Banks, The Sure Thing: SE, Valley Girl: SE, Breakin', Last American Virgin, Bright Lights, Big City, Flamingo Kid, Hot Dog: The Movie, Johnny B. Good, Rachel Papers, Thrashin', Foxes
8/15 - Carrie (TV movie), Bulletproof Monk: SE
8/26 - The Howling: SE
9/2 - Stargate SG-1: Season Four, The Outer Limits: The Original Series - Season Two
9/9 - City of Ghosts
9/16 - Just for Kicks, Fargo: SE
10/7 - Silkwood, Alien from L.A., Impulse, Street Smart, Straight out of Brooklyn, Whales of August
10/14 - Shredder
10/21 - It Runs in the Family
11/4 - Legally Blonde 2: SE, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: SE (maybe anamorphic widescreen this time?), Green Acres: Season One, Mr. Ed: Season One, Custer of the West, Duel in the Sun, Hell in the Pacific, Junior Bonner, Too Late for the Hero
11/18 - Together, Hour of the Wolf, Passion of Anna, Persona, Serpent's Egg, Shame, plus Bergman special editions
11/25 - Boardheads
12/26 - Escape from New York: SE
It's worth noting that this list does NOT include several special editions that MGM has already released in Europe (but not yet in the States), among them more elaborate editions of Robocop, Misery, Rain Man and The Great Escape.
And in a bit of Fox DVD info, Ain't it Cool News is reporting a few possible details on the studio's planned Firefly box set. All the episodes (including a few that were never aired) will reportedly be released on disc later this year, in anamorphic widescreen video, with other extras TBA. Just FYI.
Stay tuned...

Outer Limits Season Two! YES!
Valley Girl, Last American Virgin, Howling SE!
I love MGM.
And the list doesn't look complete, either, as it doesn't include a bunch of the August Midnight Movies and Double Features, so we can probably expect more to be announced.

Well...good thing I just picked up the Robocop: SE from HK. Guess I'll have to look into Misery and Rain Man tho.
*sigh*
None of that interests me...but then again I'll probably be so broke from May through August that I'll need some time to recoup.

I've only seen The Canturbury Tales, which I loved. Are the other two as good?
Glad to see they're finally releasing some Bergman.
