These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 FILM SUBSET list.

The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.

Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.

Spoiler tags aren't always used in here, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

First time viewing here. The meta elements are initially fun but then start to feel tired more often than not seeming to intentionally kill any tension which is sort of funny but not as enjoyable. There are already large swaths of movie that seem boring pierced by occassional humor or interesting kills; but maybe I was just not into as much of the back and forth meta elements.
Biology teach dissection is great.
Some of the dark humor here is funny; like how no one knows how many victims there are because of parts everywhere.
Cool mask for the killer.

I hated this the first time I watched it, but that was years ago, back when the DVD first came out by Anchor Bay. But on a rewatch it's not bad. It just has some stretches where not enough happens.

That director reminds me of Steve Gutenberg from Police Academy 2, when he was playing Jughead.

^ "Not the new zoo but the old zoo!"

Alex Rocco's character was fun to watch but even with the meta elements the movie dragged and I lost interest. So George Clooney went from this to Return of the Killer Tomatoes!.

I usually really like dark humor, but this mostly fell flat for me. I few good moments and I liked most of the meta stuff, but overall a bit of a slog to get thru.
