Hmmm. I've never heard of Tammy and the T-Rex, but that cover makes it tempting. Probably won't purchase since I've never seen the movie, but I wouldn't mind checking the move itself out at some point. Denise Richards and Paul Walker before they were stars...

Shout! Factory TV and Scream Factory have posted their movies for 31 Nights of Horror, starting October 1st. They'll start streaming everyday at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. It looks to be one movie followed by a MST3K episode. Here's the list of films/episodes:

I wonder if Shout Factory decided to air some horror before October. Last night, I was using my PS4 and decided to boot up Pluto TV. There was a horror movie called Witchery on the Shout Factory Channel

We're actually getting a small horror film festival in Perth at the end of October-early November: Program - Monster Fest Australia
Won't help with the challenge, but this is awesome. I actually haven't heard of a lot of these, any recommendations for what I should catch? I'm considering spending the $180 to see all the films but I'm not sure yet, it seems like fun though.

Bliss
Blood & Flesh: The Reel Life And Ghastly Death of Al Adamson
Color Out of Space
Daniel Isn't Real
Deerskin (From the guy who made "Rubber")
Harpoon
Rabid (Surprised by the decent word on this one, wouldn't expect that from a Cronenberg remake)
Riot Girls
Tammy and the T-Rex (I want to see the theatrical version first)
Satanic Panic (Will be watching this during the challange!)
VFW
Vivarium
And if you haven't seen it, Phantom of the Paradise is amazing and would be great to see in a theater!
Wow, after going through the whole schedule, now I'm really jealous!
Unfortunately, looks like I'll be traveling for work during the first two weeks of the challenge. So my wife asked that we get started watching stuff for Halloween yesterday so we have more time together in the seasonal mood. We started with Hocus Pocus, which really is a ton of fun (didn't realize Mick Garris wrote it). This is the first time I've started watching stuff early, and it feels a bit weird, but having fun still!

I've been buying a few more horror titles, like I do anyhow, but I keep wanting to put
them in the DVD/ Blu-ray player now. I'm stopping myself from doing it to save them for
the challenge. I don't want to burn myself out 3/4 into the month of October with horror movies.
Gotta save them for this up- coming month.

I couldn't wait. I watched Vinegar Syndrome's Ice Cream Man and Blood Harvest today. BTW, I highly recommend VS release for Blood Harvest, not so much for the film , but for the hour long film that follows Tiny Tim during his Circus run. He has some incredibly great ideas about society and economics.

Spoiler:
Although I did cave in and watch the new 4k remaster of Humanoids from the Deep to get in one final summer-themed flick for the last weekend of summer. Forgot how much fun that one is.

I received my Vinegar Syndrome September package yesterday and all four titles were horror films, which I think is a first. Also Nightwish from Unearthed. Very hard resisting that temptation.

I got my package on Friday and I sure wanted to watch one, but I managed to distract myself with other activities. Just a few more days to go.
That new Humanoids From the Deep release does sound awesome, I'll probably pick it up within the next couple of paychecks.

Is this your first year as a subscriber? They tend to go all out horror Sept-Nov to celebrate the season. And because folks are chomping at the bit for new horror Blurays.

The Humanoids transfer is a definite improvement over the old one.

I bought the steel box a few weeks ago. It is a vast improvement of the original DVD. I was happy with the purchase.

Random movie question, would Ghost count as a horror movie? I know its a romantic drama, but it deals with Ghosts and the supernatural so I thought it might count. I got the dvd in my collection.

I've always considered Ghost to have tinges of horror. Those freaking demons who take away the bad guys used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. The subway ghost, too. But, I'm glad to see we can officially use it. I had considered using a wild card fr it several times. A favorite of mine.

Eh, in 1990, they were scary. The effects haven't stood the test of time.
