These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 FILM SUBSET list.
The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.
Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.
Spoiler tags aren't always used in here, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

I'm looking forward to revisiting Nina Forever; at first I felt like the posters for it looked cheap but the premise is clever and potentially sleazy so I gave it a shot and loved it. I'm not sure if I was just in the right mood or if it'll hold up well. "A fucked up fairy tale" is a great tagline.
This was my review/rating from 2017:
Nina Forever (2015, 99 minutes) ★★★★★★★★½✰ Unexpectedly good with bizzare visuals/twists serving up a dark romantic 'comedy' with dramatic chops. It's gory and funny but intense and played a lot more straight than the premise would suggest tackling bittersweet themes of grief and coming to terms.

Nina Forever was partially funded by a Kickstarter campaign, here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ng-to-happen-0
Fiona O'Shaughnessy does a great job of flopping lifelessly around as Nina both sarcastic and gorey/menacing at once. I love that she leaves a trail of blood the living have to clean up.
The plot is clever but some of the characters too fragile they're 'emo' and hard to empathize with making the ending seem especially odd that Nina is haunting only Holly now that Rob has moved on and Holly is stuck with her tragic preoccupations. It elevates the film beyond a simple ghost story adding some psychological depth by making Nina less about literal romance and more about headspace but requires accepting Holly is so damaged.

The premise reminded me a little of Burying the Ex merged with Life After Beth. I had a mixed reaction this one, just as I did to those other two previously mentioned films. I appreciated the way it was filmed, the cinematography, and the acting from all three leads. It was well-made film about a guy who's dead ex physically shows up every time he's going to have sex with his new girlfriend, Holly. As someone who lost his female best friend to a sudden illness a couple of months ago, I can appreciate the difficult lesson in letting go and trying to move forward.
But, it just seemed like endless sex scenes just for the sake of sex scenes, including a strange one where Rob and Holly try to have sex on Nina's grave. The problem I have with metaphorical movies like this is the metaphor seems to overshadow all logic. Everything from the main character reactions to Nina's arrival to them continuing their relationship is just so unrealistic to the point where it took me out of the movie. I also felt it was too long and could have been trimmed just a bit, which is odd, considering it's just an hour and 38 minutes long. It's labelled as a horror-comedy, but I felt it was neither funny nor scary.
All in all, it's a movie I'm glad I watched, but don't see myself ever having the desire to watch again because it's just not that fun to sit through...

Baggage: the movie.
This was a difficult watch for me because it reminded me of a relationship from when I was 20 that I struggled to get over.

I enjoyed it. It was interesting and not something I was expecting. Some headscratching moves from the lead female character (curious how the ghost trapped to her in the end and if she can pass the ghost along) but overall, it was good and different. But def seemed like it could be a porno with how much sex and nudity there was lol.

I would like to thank Undeadcow for relieving me of the burden of picking the subset film with the most nudity/sexual content.

Baring themselves emotionally as well as physically? I was not sure how the connections worked either but not bad for subset pick.

I was expecting something much lighter, and got serious. I saw it a few months ago and hoped it would be lighter the second time around. Nah!
