Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

I have a problem. Please forgive me if i have posted this in the wrong section. My debit card on file for Columbiahouse has expired (in 09) but my numbers stayed the same on my new card. Now, I forgot to cancel a director's selection (for the first time ever, I'm usually on top of things) and I got billed to my new card for the dvd. Is there a way to cancel my card on file and just pay with a money order or something? I HATE when someone takes money out of my account, when I'm not aware of it, especially when the card on file expired months ago. By the way I fulfilled my account years ago. I am just staying active for the deals. Is there a way to stop the directors selection of the month once, instead of every month? Thanks so much in advance.

Yes. I did this just last month: Send an e-mail to CS and you should get a response back within 24 hours.

Unfortunately, TVonDVD sets are pretty much exempt from this as the 40% off is the "normal" price on these and as such will only count if they are $19.95 or higher *with* the 40% off. BUT... if you have a 10% (or 20%, etc.) code that *stacks* with this and the price drops below $19.95 it'll still count.

Well at least on my TV account, movies are also 40% off. So by using the b1g1 code, you could get two $24.95 movies with shipping for under $20. Whether or not the movie qualifies as a fulfillment I can't tell because i've already fulfilled my account. But they should because it is an automatic 40% off and the original club price is $24.95.

Also I don't know if all b1g1 codes work this way, but I just got Dawn of the Dead Blu-ray and Gone with the Wind Special Edition for $16.94. I'm not sure why this worked out because Dawn of the Dead club price is only $15.95 and Gone with the Wind club price is $24.95. I tried swapping in different movies and the all worked out the same. Granted they are still processing, but I imagine it will grow through.

I was using 20100301AET3D by the way.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

Using code 20100301AET3D, I put Dead Like Me Collection ($41.97) and The Hurt Locker (free) in my cart. With S&H, the amt comes to just under $52. i didn't place the order because i can't find a breakdown of what counts as a commitment on the new site. just a vague statement that anything$19.95 or over qualifies as 1 unit (with some unspecified exceptions). Does anyone know if this still qualifies as 2 purchases?

Thanks for sharing, now I can finally close out my last account. With the 3 for $60 blu ray this code brought me down to a total of $60 and some change. This is probably as close as it gets to free shipping and considering both this code and possibly the blu ray deal are likely to end after the weekend it looked like a good time to bite.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

There are some upcoming blu-ray releases that you can get 3 for $60 and also use the 10% off code
20100305WSTD for total $60.97. (the description of the 10% says upcoming releases are excluded but when I just placed my order it applied).

I don't know how it would even be worth it since that still puts the average price per movie at over $20 each.

Well it puts it at about $20.33 each. If I added the same three blu rays into my cart at Amazon.com the total comes out to $59.57 total (all three were 19.99 and since the total was over 25 its free shipping). So yes I paid a little over a dollar more than I would have at Amazon but I also got three DVD's for $3. I'm happy to pay an additional $4 to have three DVD's included into my order.

Depends on whether you want to get a new release at the time it comes out or wait 3-6 months for the price to drop. The overall cost for the 3 I bought is $2-4 dollars a piece cheaper including shipping compared to Amazon. The Blind Side, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Did You Hear About the Morgans. Worth it to me, maybe not to some.

How many codes is that? I managed to get the 3 for $60 BR and the 10% off, but how do you get three DVDs for $3?

Any chances we'll see a return of a BOGO code to stack with the 3 for $60 Blu-Ray promo?

Free shipping on Blu-rays right now. Of course, the 3 for $60 promotion ended last night.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

I've still got a 3 for $60 banner.

*edit* I am getting 3f$60, but no free shipping even if I click through the e-mail.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

At least the 10% off code works with the free shipping deal. I'm going to fulfill my account now, since I only have til the end of the month. I'm not gambling any longer...

EDIT: Just bought Boogie Nights and South Park Bigger Longer Uncut for $39.75 shipped to fulfill my account... Not too shabby. Both aren't currently less than $20 online anywhere, so it's not a bad price...

Same here, but the 10% off coupon works so it comes to $60.97 for 3 for $60 Blu-rays.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

Free shipping on Blu Rays stacks with 10% off.

Shipping & Processing: $0.00
Promo Discount ($8.62)

But...is it just me or did they jack up the prices on the Blu Rays to cancel out the 25%?

Some new release Blu Rays are $40!!!!!! That's absurd. Three good new release blu rays with free shipping, 25% off, and 10% off comes out to $10 more than it did with the 3 for 60 and no codes.

EDIT: Not sure if anyone else does this, but I go to advanced search a lot and select price range $15-$20 and format Blu Ray. They have 99 Blu Rays (many for 14.99) that aren't bad movies when you factor in 25% off and free shipping. I just found 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Waiting, Burn After Reading, and Requiem for a Dream. I can get any trio of these blu rays for a total of $40.50.

EDIT PART 2: Ignore that, I just did my usual price comparison over at Amazon.com. Requiem, 40 Year Old Virgin, and Burn After Reading came out to a total of $33 lol. Screw CH!

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

Yea, this place has become ridiculous.

I'll bet they got some "consultant" types in there to help them redesign their model in order to maximize profits....nothing wrong with that, but when they are no better than Amazon, their days are numbered.
