It's funny, the Dreamgirls BD keeps showing up in the "We think you'd like" box on my CH page. Of course I'd like it if you never send it to me and gave me a free DVD.

bigjim25, I've added the exact same titles to my cart that you listed above, and I've used the code you just mentioned as well, and I can't get that Bridge on the River Kwai Limited Edition to show up for free no matter what I do.

Either you mistakenly picked the other one when you ordered, you got lucky, or it's just not meant for me to buy that DVD from CH.

It's always been too high. I mean, $39.99 list price, and even at 50 or 60% off it's still just a bit less than most everywhere else. I've never been able to understand why I can't have it as a free pick. If I could do a BOGO for it I'd have done it months ago.

I'm very cheap, I don't want to pay more than $10 for the DVD.

May have something to do with the order you enter them. Also it worked when I just entered the 1st 2. I always order something that costs something because I figure if your order shows nothing but free DVDs that might bring up a red flag.

Had a question about a fulfilment order. I just ordered the "Viva Pedro" boxset twice at "special club price" with a B1G1 code and got 8 1/2 Criterion Collection for free twice (one for each Pedro set). In my "Your Account" page I see that the order status is "To be assigned" and that the prices have been replaced with asterisks (****). Is this a bad sign? Am I about to be blacklisted or something? I simply wanted to have 2 copies of each title (1 set I can keep; the other for a gift), although I did order this same combination in the past with a different account (it's a great deal). Does anyone know what it means when they say "to be assigned" and they've replaced prices with ****? Did I royally screw it up?

I am very doubtful that "you screwed up".And do not worry about being blacklisted(unless you order multiple copies of 1 title).
I too have those ****on my orders,and they've been that way for over a week and a half now.So that is normal.
Hopefully that money order I sent a week a go will arrive soon and get shipping confirmation.
If they haven't shipped mine yet cuz they've been waiting for payment of my previous order,than I don't know what the hell is wrong.

Usually, the best codes are B1G1F with free shipping on 3 or more titles. So four titles for app. $40, counting as 2 commitments.

They average maybe once a month, good for a few days.

And many of us would advise not to use the "glitches" even if they come back.

Glitches are very much a YMMV situation, ethical considerations aside. There was a glitch a couple of years ago that allowed people to add any box set as a TV club enrollment. A lot of us got away with ordering expensive box sets like the Monty Python Megaset and Star Trek box sets, and there were no consequences. A short time after there was another glitch similar to the most recent one, IIRC, and several people who had exploited it were harrassed by a CH supervisor when they tried to re-enroll.

If you use a software vulnerability to score DVDs very cheaply, you run the risk of the "deal" coming back to haunt you. Or not.

I remember a glitch back in 04(maybe 05)that was similar to the one discussed here.You entered a certain code,picked 1 full price title,than a certain movie that had been a"deal of the day"(only a very few titles would work).The deal of the day showed up as free.Than,you went to the cart and removed the full price title,and somehow the deal of the day still showed up as free.You only had to pay shipping.I managed to pick up Goldfinger 007 Special Edition,Legend Ultimate Edition and American Pie Ultimate Edition(or whatever it's called)for $3 each.
And,no,CH never threw a hissy fit because of it.Many others here did the same thing and I doubt CH ever caught on.

I remeber that glitch and yes it is true CH never caught on to that one either.

I placed an order 2 days ago that is listed on my account page as "To be assigned" with asterisks inserted in place of numbers in the "total charges" field. Is this a bad omen? What does "To be assigned" mean? What's doubly strange is that the same outstanding order number is listed twice, one with the correct charge listed ($61.90) and the other with the "to be assigned" and the "****". Any ideas on this one?

"To be assigned" ones usually fall off in a few days. Same thing happened on one of my orders.

The same message happened to me. Does this mean the entire order will be erased, or just that Dreamgirls/Disturbia will drop off the order?

The second order shipped and I received all the DVD's today (with the exception of 'Superbad').

I'm sure that the other order with the **** will disappear over the next couple of days

Soo... is there any chance you'd be charged for these purchases full price instead of free? Has anyone had their orders re-corrected and charged full price?

how much shipping would i be charged if i added the almodovar set to this? would it complicate the situation?

I don't see how it would complicate things, it's just another dvd to them. Shipping on the set is $7.99 IIRC. You can find out yourself by putting it in your cart.

thanks everyone... plus whoever started this thread has a great idea... I think all threads should start like this now ^_^! I have also decided to get my fulfillments done through the $19 box set deal On top of the BOGO deal. I hope I haven't worn out my mileage yet.

Lawrnce of Arabi still shows in my pre-ordrs but I got a letter today int he mailfrom CH telling me the title I selected is no longer available.but it still shows up as a pre-order?
