Free DVD w/$19.95+ purchase. Works in TV Club! Use with fulfillment orders. Exp 1/29?

Log in to your account, and click the link which says "Looking for the offer in your mailing?" Enter code 801052 for this offer:
Get a Free DVD when you buy 1 a $19.95 or higher!

This month, TAKE ALL DVDS AT TO 50% OFF when you buy one at the regular Club price of $19.95 or higher. (Plus shipping and processing.)

A discounted Set or an Upcoming Release -- purchased at $19.95 or higher -- can also act as your qualifying purchase.
Your sale selections must be of equal or lower value to your qualifying purchase of $19.95 or higher.
Some exceptions apply. Upcoming Releases, Sets, and other specially priced items will not participate in your regular offer as a sale item.

Get DVD Collector's Sets at up to 30% off List Price -- with no other purchase required!

Order early and save more on Upcoming Releases!
Pre-order these highly anticipated titles for as low as $19.95 each -- then, you can take Unlimited DVDs at 50% off!

These offers expire as of the date on your Order Card. All selections are limited to two copies per title.

This sale ends on 1/29/05 (12:01 am)
Confirmed this works with orders in the TV club. Enjoy!

Don't forget to use the webdvd discount on your first order to save an extra $5. The URL is CH.com/webdvd (replace CH with columbiahouse)

Recent TV Club members: Here's an interesting option-

Buy a $40+ boxset, get $5 off, fulfill your account, and get a free DVD to boot! Add shipping costs though (not too bad considering you get a free DVD in this deal).

===
Combinations which work with this code

This will not stack with 2 other $19.95 titles. Even if you tell it to count 2 titles towards the commitment, it will only count one, give you one 50% off, and the third free.

Your options are:

1) $40+ boxset and a free DVD
2) Two $20+ "Special" items and a free DVD
3) 2 orders - one $19.95 title, one free title in each order. (Adds more shipping though, and $5 webdvd savings does not apply to orders under $30).

"Special" items are items which say "Special" price as opposed to "Sale" price. These are usually box sets, but can also be things like Superman Animated: Vol 1.

Final Note:

Look for a line in the total section which says Discount: $x.xx. The free title shows at full price, with a discount listed below your selections.

Update 1/31: DEAD

Interesting. I was wondering if I could use a boxset as the initial buy and get a free dvd with it. I added a boxset at ~$45 to my cart and a dvd and my total is ~$45 to complete my enrollment. Now, I wonder if this works with the $5 off first purchase link? I may close out my requirement tonight.

Only thing I am not happy with is the like $8 shipping for the 6 disc boxset. This may help me decide though....

Yes it works with the webdvd discount, and you can use a $40+ boxset to get a free DVD and fulfill your account. Editing first post to reflect this.

I got it to accept the code on an account that just opened today, but I can't find any combination of titles that will show up with one free in the shopping cart. Anyone else have this problem or is it because my account is too new? I know sometimes codes don't work on an account, but my experience in the past is that the website won't accept it as valid in that case.

Edited first post to reflect which combinations will work with this deal. Please post if that works for you now Jim.

This code worked for me when I used it to fulfill a BDCD account. I picked up:

Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow
Collateral
China Syndrome

I opened my account today also. I notice that it does not list the discount where the dvds are listed but it does reflect the discount in the total price listed on the page. Possibly what you are seeing?

That's what I was thinking too duganrm. Added the final note in the OP to mention this.

Shipping hurts this one on box sets.

I'll wait a few days and see if 40% off sets pops up again.

Thank you. Managed to fulfill an account with Sharktale, Heat, and The Notebook for free. All for less than $42.

Are you sure that you can do this deal on two separate orders? If you can, then this is a great deal. My first order would be around $21 for two titles using the $5 web coupon. My second order would be around $26 for two titles. $47 for four titles would be sweet. Add $10 for the two box sets for enrollment and it would average out to just $9.50 per title.

would the $5 web coupon work with the total cost being less than $30?

Thanks. You're right. I completely forgot about the $30 minimum for the web coupon.

I can't make this work out that well after shipping.

For example- Greatest American Hero+Superman S1+Sky Captain-$5=$37.67. Shipping is $9.97. Not bad, but we've done better.

Man, I'm sorry I missed this thread earlier today (7PMish). I had just fulfilled one of my TV Club accounts. Maybe I can call up a CSR tommorrow & get them to send me a free selection(w/S&H of course)???

Oh well, I was able to use it on my other account. I went ahead & bit the bullet on the box set S&H to be able to use the $5 coupon - took a little sting out.

I almost thought the "free" discount was messing up - I'd put 3 titles in my cart & saw that the 2nd & 3rd titles were @ 50% off & the discount was showing the $ of both titles. Turns out the discount shown was wrong when I backtracked(manually calced) the $.

Thing is, any title with a price of $19.95 is free - especially a $21.95 title discounted by the 40/50% sale.

As my free selection I picked west side story 2 disk (29.95). As long as it is not considered a special selection and is equal to or less than what you purchase you will get it free.

I tested that earlier. worked on the Underworld Uncut Special Edition (think that was it) that I put into the cart with a boxset.

Very nice!

Preorderd The Notebook and got The Crying Game: Collector's Edition for only shipping.

So -

$18.48 for initial signup
$26.48 for those two flicks...
Another $26.48 if I do this again...

$71.44 for ten discs, or $7.15 per flick.
A bit nicer than picking less-than-perfect choices for 3 for $25. I'm happy.

Sweet timing. I needed a replacement fulfillment for my cancelled Ron Burgundy Gift set, so I picked up Raging Bull SE and Shark Tale for a shipped total of $24.93. Takes the sting out of losing Ron.

Eric,

Your example works out the exact same as Free Shipping when you buy 3 or more. If that promo was running, shipping would be free, but Sky Captain would be $9.98. It's a wash with this deal.

Of course, if they ran free shipping no minimum again, that would allow for a better deal

Thanks Zutton! I went with 'The Munsters: Season 1' and 'My Fair Lady: 2 Disc SE'. After the $5 first time web order discount along with your code, my total came out to ~$51, which includes shipping and tax (Cali). Not too bad (I *think*) considering DDD has these two for $59 total. Plus, this fulfilled my commitment, so I can join again.
