Your order has to be over $30 after the free DVD is discounted to use the coupon. This is why ppl are ordering 3 titles and not just 2.

Personally, I'm gonna order all pre-orders. 2 will be $19.95 and the third will be $10.98. The reason I'm doing this is cuz the 2 $19.95 titles will count as fulfillments (I'm thinking of doing some combination of Heat, Raging Bull, Malcolm X, Get Shorty, Hoosiers, and Chariots of Fire).

Well, just placed 2 seperate orders to fulfill the commitments for an account I opened last week. Here's what I got:

Order #1
Raging Bull CE: $14.95 ($19.95 - $5.00 web coupon)
Memento LE: $10.98 (50% off)
Shark Tale: $0.00 (freebie)

Order #2
Heat SE: $19.95
Star Trek II DE: Free (completes the Star Trek collection that I got with my enrollments)

Not too bad, considering I figured I would have to spend about $40 just to fulfill the account with 2 titles, but now I got 5 titles that I really wanted for $7 more.

Ended up getting 11 DVD's on this account, and except for Shark Tale, all of them are 2 disc CE's, LE's, or DE's for an average of $6.82 per DVD.

Thanks OP.

Not too bad. I guess I'm done with CH for quite a while. I'm spent.

As to when this ends...it appears that it is still working as of 8:15am on Saturday morning (EST). I just got an email that another account was approved and I quickly went to the website and successfully fulfilled it using this code.

The coupon expires 1/29, so it should work until midnight tonight.

I fufilled an account with

Sealab 2021: Season 1 $17.46 (with $5 web discount)

Shark Tale (Pre-Order) Free

Superman: The Animated Series - Volume One $20.21

Subtotal $37.67

Shipping & Processing $6.97 (ouch)

Tax $2.68 (ya bums!)

Total: $47.32

A great deal when you consider that DDD want 23.39 for Sealab and 20.40 for Superman. That's $43.79, only $3.53 less than CH, where I also got Shark's Tale, and the enrollment package.

Thanks OP!

FYI: WB is offering a $10-$15 rebate until 2/7 if you purchase 2 or 3 of their titles. This would make an excellent way to close your accounts.

Only thing is we have to mail it by 2/22 and it usually takes CH well over a week to get it to me, that is if they ship promptly, something they hardly ever do...

BTW, when I placed this order I received $6 in Fun Cash instead of $2 or $3 for some reason. I couldn't replicate that with any other combination.
If you preorder Shark Tale you get $5 in FunCash. It's says that on their site so I did it also.

Yes, my acccount was with the "DVD Club: TV Edition". Zutton mentioned in the thread header that this deal worked in the TV sets club. In that club you get two sets for $9.95 and have to buy 2-4 fulfillments, depending on the code used. For more information check out the (very long) DVD Club: TV Edition Introduction and Discussion Thread.

Box sets have certain price levels when used as fulfillments, not enrollments (they are not available as enrollments except in the TV Sets Club). The Sets Club can be fulfilled with regular DVDs; doesn't have to be sets.

One last thing, the fulfillment credit schedule was modified awhile back. The new numbers:
$19.95 to $39.94 counts for one
$39.95 to $59.94 counts for two
$59.95 to $79.94 counts for three
$79.95 to $99.94 counts for four
$99.95 and up counts for five

-Source: the Columbia House catalog included with the enrollment package.

The FAQ is out of date on this topic, as is the help information on the CH website.

I'm sorry for repeating myself, but since many of you seem to be monitoring this thread and using the code, might you share any insight as to what titles can be received free and which cannot?

I promise this is the last time I'll ask

You need to buy one DVD at $19.95 or higher and you should be able to get a DVD of equal or lesser value free. This works with in-stock DVDs of $19.95 or less. Some have been able to get $19.95 pre-orders free, although that doesn't seem to work for me. It also works for regular price, in stock, DVDs of $21.95 and $22.95, assuming that one buys a DVD of at least that value to qualify. I believe that "special price" sets do not work as free DVDs but they do work to buy something else free.

Your best bet is to try it with some DVDs you are interested in and see what works. But hurry, the sale is scheduled to end tonight.

I couldn't get the combination that I wanted (2 count towards commitment, 1 FREE) to work on the web so I called this morning. After a few runarounds, I was finally transferred to a supervisor who was able to do the following:

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers:SE 21.95
Spongebob Squarepants Movie 19.95 (pre-order)
Shawshank Redemption:SE FREE

Shipping 4.98
Web Discount -5.00

TOTAL: 41.88

She never asked for the online code and it looks like she didn't charge me for shipping for the FREE one.

I just got a club membership approval this morning on an application for both War and Remembrance box sets. Had a hard time finding something I wanted that would give me the free DVD, $5 off, and count as 2 fulfillments on the web site, but managed to finally get the following combination to work.

Buster Keaton Collection 3460102 $24.96

Random Harvest 3510104 $19.95

Chariots of Fire Special Edition (Pre-Order) 3556107 Free
Release Date is 02/01/2005. This item will be shipped separately.

Subtotal $44.91

Shipping & Processing $6.97

Tax $3.76

Total $55.64

For one of my orders picked up the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (priced at 26.21) and got West Side Story Special Edition (listed at 29.95 but after 50% off was 14.98) as my free selection. Added Open your Eyes to get the $5.00 webdvd discount.

The club also has the 2 disk versions of Collaterial and Minority Report bundled together (Selection #: 3500006) for the same price as Collaterial alone, and I wanted both so that brought down my per disk price average. I then picked up Leon the Unltimate Edition as my free disk on that order.

For this membership I get 12 movies for an average of about $6.78

I couldn't get the 5 dollar web discount but I settled for 2 commitments and 1 free.

Superman Animated Vol 1 (Commitment)
Beastmaster Special Edition (Commitment)
Spiderman 2 (Free)

It was odd that they gave me Spiderman 2 for free since it was more expensive than both Beastmaster and Superman.

Still working.

I doubt anybody will want this exact combination of titles, but perhaps it might give an idea to someone looking for items for their combo:

Deanna Durbin Sweetheart Pack 32654 Pending $20.21**
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 33458 Pending $0.00**
Before Sunrise/Before Sunset 35598 Pending $21.96*(with $5 web coupon).
