Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

got Supergirl, Ultraman (with original Japanese audio!) for $3, and Monkey Business (the only Marx Brothers film I didn't have!) for $5.

btw - if you have any interest in Jason goes to Hell, you might want to pick up the DVD for $3. Not only does it have the unrated version, but it has one of the best commentaries I have ever heard. The uber-deluxe F13 blu-ray box set has NEITHER of these features!! Just saying.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

While there's nothing to die for here, Pearl (Tacoma WA) got the biggest $3 batch is quite awhile.

Highlights:
MGM 4 Film Horror Sets:
Return Of Living Dead/Swamp Thing/Bucket Of Blood /Frogs
Strange Invaders/Invaders From Mars/Invisible Invaders/Journey To The 7th Planet
Phantom From 10,000 Leagues/Best With 1,000,000 Eyes/War Gods Of The Deep/At The Earth's Core

+
Jane Austen Book Club
Shock Treatment restock (Rocky Horror Sequel)
Kingdom Hospital Complete Series Box Set (this has taken a BIG price hit on Amazon; from $30 as low as $4.50)
A Countess From Hong Kong (Restock)
Deepak Chopra & Olivia Newton John - 7 Spiritual Laws of Success
House of Spirits (never heard of this one; but great cast: Streep, Ryder & Close)
Mother of Tears Unrated (finally showed up here)
Pressure Point (restock)
Mr Deeds Goes TO Town (Restock)
Chariots of Fire (Restock)
Slumdog Millionaire (restock)

They also brought in some major studio $3 Blu's which I've never seen before at this price point. I'm guessing they were quite picked over by the time I got to them, the only title that was even remotely interesting was Children Of The Corn Genesis (Dimension; though they did have a couple Warner titles that I can't remember & had never heard of).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Went to the Eau Claire, WI, Big Lots yesterday. Very few Halloween titles. Can't remember which ones, sorry. They did have some Christmas titles. Four Christmases, Stealing Christmas, Opus n Bill in A Wish For Wings that Work. Also saw Superman III. The rest was the same old. Didn't see any Blus, either.

Oh, there was another Christmas cartoon one-Scooby Doo, maybe? And the Cricket on the Hearth one that they've had since last year.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Picked up:
Rest Stop: Don't Look Back BD (I thought this was the orig. I made have made a mistake here )
Kingdom Hospital Entire Series

both for 3 bucks.

I actually thought the first poster of this was mistaking the single KH release. Don't understand BL pricing sometimes.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

A heads-up.

"Touch Of Evil: Universal 100th Anniversary" DVD sold is NOT the special edition. But a repackaging of the bare bones copy. I made the mistake of buying it today. Opened it before checking and now I'm out five bucks (plus tax).

They did this before with "Imitation Of Life", added that "100th" foil slipcover, but it was still the deluxed edition. Not in this case. So I'm upset.

Another coupon, though not as good as the last one:

5 off 20
10 off 45
15 off 60

through 10/4

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Supposedly there will be a 20% off sale on 10/5 and 10/6. As usual I don't see any hint of the coupon when I log into my Buzz Club account, and all the email options are turned on. In fact, I have never once received any coupon or promo email from Big Lots, and it's not going into spam and my email address is right.

I sure hope they hand out the 20% off coupons in the store because I can never get them online and they never email them to me. On other forums people post things like "why don't you get the coupon yourself" instead of simply posting it even though there's no way I can get it from BigLots.com.

I still don't know where you get these 5 off 20 type coupons. Do you have to shop there a certain amount? Like the 20% off coupons, they never email anything to me nor do they ever put any links to any coupons when I log in.

They pick certain customers to send coupons and ignore the rest. I have 2 accounts and have received no coupons since I've been on the new reward program for over a year.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

This is a GUESS: I seem to get them within a few days after a purchase. I believe they are using metrics. I bit on the last coupon ($5 free was pretty hard to pass on!), so this one is crummier (at all price points); they want to see if I'll bite on it.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I picked up the 2 disc Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid, didn't notice until I opened it, that it was in an eco case and didn't have the insert the original press had. I've done a search and can't find it, but in one of the bargain threads someone stated that one of the documentaries on the 2 disc set was edited, and that you needed to get the previous version to get it complete? Can someone fill me in again? Thanks.

Edit: I don't mean the trip wire edit in the R2 doc.

The good news is there is a 20% event.

The bad news is there's nothing to buy.

Yep to all. Thanks for mentioning 4 pm, I was told 5. I went in yesterday to try to at least use my $5 off $15, not only no dvd's, i couldn't even find $15 worth of food I wanted!

SOW, Pearl didn't get anything this week, but still has most of last week's batch.

So true... There has not been any "new" DVD stock put out here in at least 6 weeks.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Bridgeport has a lot (of mostly garbage), but it also appears to be last week's batch, & they either didn't get the Halloween assortment, or have already sold through it.

2 comments: Every copy they had of WC Fields My Little Chickade was a floater, be careful with that title. Also, their $5 cd section was a little better than average for BL, though I didn't buy anything.

I don't recall the comment, don't own the movie, and don't know how much research you did, but DVDCompare (http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=1075) and the review here on DVDTalk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/22134...ctors-edition/) both suggest otherwise. It's possible that nobody noticed if just a few minutes were trimmed, but does your "Making Of" documentary run the 42:06 cited on DVDCompare?
