The stores closest to me have very few TV seasons left. Which leads me to believe someone bought them at those outrageous prices.
I just bought my first $3 DVD in a long time. A horror flick, Severance. Seems to be well-reviewed and I had the October Horror Challenge on my mind.

Gossip Girl was the only marked down series I saw.

Yeah, Gossip Girl is the only one I've seen with clearance tags. Other TV seasons still have their original tags, but ring up cheaper. I really wish they had price checkers so I could find out before going to the register what something was going to ring up as.

At two of the stores near me in Chicago, one barely had anything available (Niles, IL) while the Diversey Avenue one had a few series but all jumbled up all over the place, with a season of House, a few seasons of Glee, Chuck, Friends and Seasons 3 & 4 of Mike & Molly and a season of Heroes and two Broke Girls, just to name a few. Not what it once as though in terms of quantity and quality.

other than finding an occasional overstock of a hard to find older release, there's no fun in chasing Big Lots DVD's anymore. Its the same shitty pile of full screen Borats and premium priced no-one-wants-to-watch TV shows.
What fun it was a few years ago. Finally sold the last of the 2 disc special edition of Memento ($3 title from 5 years ago) for $25...that was a cool $110 profit off those.

i am planning on buying a ton of the $11.99 34 gallon tubs as I'm going to be moving. Thinking of using them for clothes, cd's & dvd's.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I saw new clearance signs today. Orange and black (Taz!) stickers are 90% off, purple is 70% off and brown is 50% off. However, they didn't want to scan that way. I picked up the following:
Camp Rock 2 (blu-ray)
Immigrants (dvd)
Camp Rock 2 had a $8 black sticker, but was still ringing up at 70% off ($2.40). Immigrants had a $5 purple sticker, but rang up 50% off ($2.50). The manager told me she couldn't adjust the price of Camp Rock down to $0.80 because the system doesn't allow price adjustments of more than 50% of what it scans at, so she offered to take 50% off of the prices they scanned at (so $1.20 & $1.25). This was still $0.15 more than what they should have scanned at (plus tax), but it was close enough.
What was kind of nice was somebody went through the rack and sorted almost everything by sticker color. So all the titles with brown stickers were in one area, all the purple stickers were together and so on. This was a lot easier than having to hunt for them.

Mine does this on occasion but it typically only lasts a couple of days. The shoppers here are typically incredibly rude and uncaring when it comes to helping keep shelves in proper order. And by that I mean simply "putting something back where you got it" when taking things off the shelf to look at them.

FYI--I heard an employee (and it may have been a manager) tell a customer that the next 20% off sale will be the first weekend of October.

Even though we may be seeing the decline of BL, I thought it was time for a new thread. This one is almost 3000 posts long.

Pearl Street (Tacoma WA) Put out a full Black Friday Display, + a number of titles I hadn't seen before at BL.
Problem is they were mostly so lame, I hadn't seen quite a number of them anywhere before!
I bought 3, & considered Rio 2 ($2.88 DVD & $5 B;lu; but passed on that one
3 I bought:
Blu: Australia $2.88
DVD: The Big Street (Mucy Ball Romance Noir $5
(Interesting looking blind buy) Bel Ami $1.88
