Can only guess stores get different shipments and not always same at all stores. got some this past week and was some good stuff. saw any in teach area in some full reused boxes, cause had the led lights in front so not sure if go again if be alot new stuff. can only guess those who go to the stores early are resellers by chance or any who think be new stuff and get more slection if hit store early when open. just saw the site but not sure if it an old instore ad from start of week. or do they have new ads begin fri or thursday by chance. can maybe try later but not sure if waste time lol.

Finally got around to my local store - the new shipment was mostly gone. Picked up "Inherent Vice" ( which I think I already own, but it was worth a buck for the enclosed digital copy ) & "Freakonomics".

I hit up store #1 today, I will swing by store #2 tomorrow. I think the cashiers hate me.

The Prime Gig is a fantastic movie. An unknown gem that came out in the early 2000s. That must have gotten mixed in somewhere by accident at the factory, because it's a very old New Line snapper case release that has been out of print for years.

Dollar Tree gets fewer horror movies than I'd expect. They seem to go heavily after Well GO USA inventory's of Asian cinema, which most of the time have little appeal outside of very niche audiences.

clintfunhome 07-30-19 04:13 PM

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I haven't seen Prime Gig before, so I'll check it out. I like Vince Vaughn. I will buy any asian and horror film i can find there. I'm surprised I found any horror there actually. I picked up a bunch of horror and asian dvds from Big Lots today too.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Store #2 had another copy of Prime Gig.

Seeing the piles in pictures is how i am kinda since they only a buck lol besides any tax crap lol. i fill a basket of any possible get then recheck for extra and who in it to decide how bad i want it at time. have got stuff cause who in it and not alot extras, but once u see behind scenes of certain movies u have general idea how the movie might have been made. so some movies i let get got even if not a lot extras. but knowing who in it and any extra i care to check out is just a bonus to me in ways. have not grabbed any recent dvd or dvd really at all since try declutter lol. and know i got so many i not even seen yet lol. at some point later get more just not sure when but hope it around the next time they get a new shipment any lol. i try check place early to hope score any before the area or setup is trashed kinda cause traffic already snag any try resell by chance later. so once i know i try check after job if any and score what can at time.

As reported by Phantom Stranger over in the Blu-ray Bargains forum, people have been spotting new discs at Dollar Tree.

I checked my local DT out after seeing his post, and several boxes had just been put out (according to the cashier). I picked up eight Blu-rays, and the following DVDs:

Wilfred: The Complete First Season
Final Girl
4 Films--Soviet Spies: The Russian Specialist / Little Nikita / Man on a String / A Dandy in Aspic
Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!: Season 1, Part 1
Mayhem
Mike Tyson Mysteries: Season One Uncensored
Monster Movie Mix
The Sacrament
Batkid Begins
Just Shoot Me!: Seasons 1 & 2
4 Comedy Greats: Blind Date / Slackers / Stir Crazy / Nothing in Common

There were also some made-for-video Tom and Jerry movies, a lot more Scooby-Doo discs, and several double-feature discs.

Thanks for the info. Nothing in the Auburn,Ca store yet.

Kind of sad/funny,so few B@M have physical media left, that we look forward to DT movies.
But they always seem to have a few good ones.

stuff for DVD at any Dollar Tree store that I go to they're all exercise video stuff. Not worth wasting even a dollar on those stupid things

Thanks for the info, RBrown498.

And "Mike Tyson Mysteries: Season One Uncensored" is hilarious.

I learned that John Updike died and through unknown processes - got turned into a chupacabra. Freaky.

Was out running other errands so checked my three DTs in a 5 mile radius. Zilch.

Fridays are usually new product days, right? Doubt all three of mine could have been emptied that quickly, so I’ll check again in a couple days.

rbrown498 09-14-19 03:35 PM

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Trevor, these discs aren't actually supposed to be put out on the shelves until next Friday. My store is an anomaly in that respect. Still, you've got a heads-up that they should be coming.

Trevor 09-14-19 04:16 PM

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Thanks Rasputin! I’ll peek in once or twice if I drive by a store but look in earnest next Friday/Saturday.

PhantomStranger 09-14-19 07:04 PM

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Each store puts out stuff whenever - a few of the better-run locations will wait until Friday, but I know of other stores where shipments get put out almost immediately.

Okay. Later this week.

Checked today at my local store - zero.

I hope this time around I will find "Inherent Vice" no luck last time. I'll blind buy "Beautiful People: The Complete Series".

Thanks for the update guys.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I recent went and saw some small mixed with some new stuff but certain ones saw part but not rest cause got blah lol. lucky only a buck cause any not real wanna keep can just donate for space lol. saw real no new setup in front but guess from reading around they may have in the next week or 2. as said above though not all stores rush stuff out as they get any, seeing how some store only got so much space and not everything sell out so fast as other stuff does. the branch i go to used to be bigger space wise cause been to before when was other stores, then dollar tree moved and really like cut the place in half or more cause it seems smaller then before. so i can only guess they did cause of space they need for back stock any. saw box on u boats as they cal them and no or none with movies i can tell at time. not wanna be one who bugs them for movies so i try go when i read they got them in or setup then not waste time going after job any day lol. if so i grab any needs or wants at time lol.

Donnie Brasco 1 disc WS
Wonder Years Season 1 (there were a ton of these; I paid a lot more than a $ for mine!)

DiggityDawg 09-21-19 04:25 PM

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Stopped by one of my local stores today ( 43rd street in Kansas City KS ) & grabbed a couple DVD's.

"Her" ( the Joaquin Phoenix movie from a few years back )

And one of those 5 movies "Freak Fest" discs. This one has monster movies on it ( "Killers From Space"/"Monster From A Prehistoric Planet"/"Destroy All Planets"/"Attack Of The Monsters"/"Sound Of Horror" ). I'm sure they're all on YouTube, but for a buck I bought it for a goof.

They were fully stocked - lots of DVD's & BR's if anyone's in the area.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Finally my local store got stocked.

Took home a few copies of various titles for cases like "Mr. Selfridge: Season One" and "The Layover"

To watch:

Here Alone
Life (the James Dean docudrama)
Dragon Age: Redemption
Afternoon Delight
Perfect (this is the Travolta, Curtis flick re-released from Mill Creek; turns out this is in anamorphic widescreen. The original DVD was full only.)
Peggy Sue Got Married
Innocence
Yoga Hosers (combo)

The last being the only price I would pay.

Have been to two store, the first one had their inventory out so some time, so not much remained.

Still have yet to find "Inherent Vice".

Be warned, as I mentioned in the blu thread, Yoga Hosers may very well be on of the 10 worst films I've ever had the misfortune of watching.

This is so weird to me, as it's available at all the locations I go to. I'd just buy you a copy if spending $$$ on shipping a dollar DVD didn't seem like the dumbest idea in the world.

I used to be a big Smith fan, & still enjoy him as a dude when I come across him as a podcast guest or whatever. But I haven't seen his last several movies, & I've heard enough about "YH" that when I saw it the other day I had to remind myself "yeah, it's just a buck. But are you EVER gonna actually watch it?"

Yeah, I've heard about that. But I gave it a risk for one dollar. A dollar is fine. More than a buck, then - no.

I've now been to four different DT in my area; even going to two other towns. I added more cases for my later Black Friday purchases. None of that Eco Cases, nonsense. Four different store... still NONE of them have "Inherent Vice". None.

I did find, "Beautiful People: The Complete Series". But that's about it. Oh and "The Walk" DVD.

Stopped by 5 different Dollar Tree stores throughout today.

Most were pretty well-stocked with DVDs.

Picked up:

Upstream Color
Knight of Cups

My nearest DT had 2 copies of Inherent Vice but I already have it. I'll swing by the other tomorrow.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

New batches are being reported; the sale isn't supposed to start until Black Friday, but the usual stores that put them out early are, indeed, putting them out early. I've heard that many folks are finding more Blu-rays than usual, but that wasn't the case at my store.

I bought seven DVDs:

7 Guardians of the Tomb
Some Kind of Hate
The Summoning
Bloody Homecoming
Horror Collection: 10 Movies (mostly junk, but there are a couple of interesting TV movies on it)
City of Dead Men
Double Feature: The Looney Tunes Show / Daffy Duck's Quackbusters

I posted this in blu also: my local store said while they are aware of this batch, they haven't received them yet.

This is new news to me.

Was there in the morning - took home floss. Looked - didn't see any new DVDs.

Yea, saw news of this at different sights and some video. as usual not all store put out stock same time. so just gotta check back anytime before black friday. i gonna go check and so not wasted trip, grab any wants or need at time. also i read or told biglots doing a sale start tomorrow, so gotta check that on way home lol.

Thanks for the info, Cabler30. I'll check my local store.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I checkd my store close by, and saw just some old stock. so can only guess they not stock it yet cause wait till closer to event any. i read some stores have stocked any early and some stores wait. but they know once stuff is stocked out, stuff flies out, and i wonder if anyone calls to get first dibs, so that any real good stuff is gone. also guessing resellers hit up the place early to stockpile any. so all i can do is check later and see what can do at time.

JohnIan 11-24-19 03:35 AM
